We are seeking a highly specialized and experienced RPGLE Developer to enhance and maintain our mission-critical applications on the IBM iSeries (AS/400) platform.

This role requires 5+ years of dedicated experience in modern RPG development and will be focused on supporting core retail systems, specifically in merchandising and allocation.

Key Responsibilities & Technical Deliverables

Core Application Development & Maintenance :

- Modern RPG Development : Design, develop, modify, and maintain complex programs using modern RPG techniques, specifically RPGLE (free-format preferred), CLLE, and SQLRPGLE.

- Database Management : Expertly manage and optimize data interactions with DB2/400, ensuring data integrity and query performance.

- Modular Programming : Apply ILE concepts and strong modular programming principles to build scalable, maintainable, and reusable code components.

System Analysis & Optimization :

- Requirements Analysis : Analyze detailed business and technical requirements, translating them into robust, efficient software designs.

- Troubleshooting & Optimization : Proactively troubleshoot and optimize critical systems, identifying root causes of incidents and improving application performance and stability.

- Documentation : Maintain clear technical designs and comprehensive documentation for all programs and deployment procedures.

Integration & Domain Focus :

- System Integration : Design and implement robust processes to integrate iSeries applications with external systems, including warehouse, planning, and Order Management Systems (OMS).

- Retail Specialization (Preferred) : Prior Retail domain exposure (specifically merchandising, inventory, or allocation) is highly desirable.

- Modern Integration (Nice to Have) : Experience exposing or consuming services via JSON/REST APIs on IBM i is a strong asset.

Required Skills & Experience Summary :

- Programming (Mandatory) : Expert proficiency in RPGLE (free-format preferred), CLLE, and SQLRPGLE.

- Platform Concepts : Strong understanding of ILE concepts and modular programming.

- Database : Hands-on experience with DB2/400.

Preferred / Nice to Have :

- Domain : Retail merchandising and allocation exposure.

- Integration : Experience with JSON/REST APIs on IBM i.

- Methodology : Familiarity with Agile delivery practices
