Roadcast - Engineering Manager - SaaS Platform

Key Responsibilities :

Technical Leadership :

- Lead and mentor a team of Python engineers, promoting best practices in software design, coding standards, and testing.

- Drive the architecture and design of scalable, secure, and data-intensive SaaS platforms using Python (Django/FastAPI/Flask), REST/GraphQL APIs, and microservices.

- Provide technology thought leadership and guide critical technical decisions throughout the product lifecycle.

- Collaborate with product and design teams to align on roadmaps, timelines, and deliverables.

- Ensure high standards of code quality, security, and performance through reviews, automation, and best engineering practices.

Release Planning & Execution :

- Own release planning, deployment, and CI/CD processes.

- Ensure reliable delivery of product releases while maintaining uptime and performance for data-heavy SaaS applications.

- Partner with DevOps/SRE teams to optimize cloud deployment pipelines (AWS/GCP/Azure).

People Management :

- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing, diverse engineering team.

- Drive hiring processes to attract top Python talent and create growth opportunities for team members.

- Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and innovation.

Technology Initiatives :

- Introduce and adopt modern tools, frameworks, and open-source technologies aligned with Frogdatas' SaaS and analytics needs.

- Champion SaaS-first principles, scalability, observability, and cost optimization.

- Encourage innovation through experimentation and continuous improvement.

Collaboration & Communication :

- Act as a bridge between engineering, architecture, product, and business stakeholders.

- Provide clear progress updates to leadership, highlighting risks and solutions.

- Maintain a culture of transparency and collaboration across distributed teams.

Experience / Skills Required :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.

- 3+ years of software development experience, with deep expertise in Python and SaaS platforms.

- 5+ years in engineering management, leading and scaling product engineering teams.

- Strong hands-on expertise in Python (Django, FastAPI, Flask), microservices, and API-driven architectures.

- Proven experience in building and scaling data-intensive SaaS products in a cloud environment (AWS/GCP/Azure).

- Familiarity with modern front-end technologies (React, Angular, or Vue.js).

- Strong understanding of databases : relational (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Redis, Elasticsearch).

- Solid experience with DevOps practices : Git, CI/CD pipelines, containerization
