We are building AI-powered video analysis tools for athletes and coaches delivering real-time performance insights, personalized drills, and injury risk analysis tailored to each sport. Our users range from college athletes to D1 programs and professional teams across the US. The engineering work here is genuinely interesting video processing, AI pipelines, real-time data, and scale all in one product.

We are looking for a Lead Python Developer who can own the backend, drive architecture decisions, and ship things that work at scale.

What You Will Be Doing :

- Lead backend development using Python and FastAPI design, build, and scale the core platform

- Architect and maintain microservices and REST APIs that power AI-driven video analysis and athlete performance insights

- Work closely with the React Native / ReactJS frontend team to ensure clean, reliable API contracts

- Own CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and deployments on AWS or GCP

- Collaborate with AI and data engineering teams to integrate ML models into the product pipeline

- Write clean, well-tested, production-ready code and hold the team to the same standard

- Review code, mentor developers, and make sure the team moves fast without breaking things

- Translate ambiguous product requirements into scalable technical solutions

- Identify bottlenecks, technical debt, and performance issues and fix them proactively

What We Are Looking For :

- 6+ years of hands-on backend development with Python as your primary language

- Strong expertise in FastAPI (must-have) - Flask or Django experience is a plus

- Proven experience building and scaling microservices and REST APIs in production

- Familiarity with React Native or ReactJS enough to collaborate effectively with the frontend team

- Solid DevOps experience Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, cloud deployments on AWS or GCP

- Good understanding of databases PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or Redis

- Experience with async Python, multithreading, and performance optimisation

- Exposure to ML model integration or working alongside AI/data teams is a strong plus

- Prior experience in a startup or product-first engineering environment is preferred
