We are seeking an experienced SharePoint Architect to lead enterprise-level Information Architecture design and govern SharePoint Online platform strategy.

This role is responsible for designing scalable information structures, defining governance models, enabling enterprise content management, and architecting secure and compliant SharePoint solutions.

The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in SharePoint Online, Modern Workspaces, and IA standards, while also driving adoption, standardization, and modernization initiatives.

Key Roles & Responsibilities :

Information Architecture & Platform Strategy :

- Lead the design and implementation of SharePoint Information Architecture (IA) including site taxonomy, navigation, metadata, content types, and classification models.

- Establish content governance frameworks, retention policies, naming standards, and site hierarchy guidelines.

- Align IA design with business workflows, compliance needs, and long-term scalability.

- Conduct IA discovery workshops with business units to understand structure, access, and content behavior.

Solution Architecture & SharePoint Modernization :

- Architect end-to-end SharePoint Online solutions including intranet, collaboration portals, DMS libraries, knowledge repositories, and department sites.

- Define architecture patterns for site provisioning, template standardization, automation, and custom configurations.

- Drive modernization from legacy SharePoint versions to SPO with optimal content re-architecture.

- Oversee integrations with M365 tools including Teams, OneDrive, Power Platform, Viva, Purview etc.

Technical Leadership & Governance :

- Define governance frameworks for security, compliance, storage allocation, archival, and access controls.

- Establish architectural blueprint, reusability patterns, site provisioning automation & lifecycle policies.

- Perform periodic platform audits for content health, storage footprint, sprawl control, and compliance adherence.

- Partner with security teams to implement DLP, sensitivity labels, user access boundaries & external sharing controls.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement :

- Work closely with business owners, content leads, and IT teams to define IA structure aligned to business processes.

- Guide UI/UX teams on site layout, navigation design, user experience, and findability models.

- Mentor SharePoint developers, admins, and migration teams; enforce architecture discipline across projects.

- Drive adoption programs, change management, training workshops, and user enablement initiatives.

Documentation & Quality Assurance :

- Create architecture documentation, IA design blueprints, site provisioning models, and governance playbooks.

- Conduct design reviews, risk assessments, solution walkthroughs, and technical evaluations.

- Ensure quality, performance optimization, search relevance tuning, and long-term maintainability.

Required Skills & Expertise :

- 10 to 12 years of experience in SharePoint with at least 5+ years in SharePoint Online architect roles.

- Strong hands-on expertise in Information Architecture, site taxonomy, metadata modeling, content strategy.

- Proficiency in SharePoint Online, Modern Experience, Content Types, Hub Sites, Search Schema.

- Understanding of M365 ecosystem integration including Teams, Viva, OneDrive, Power Automate, etc.

- Experience designing enterprise portals with high adoption, scalability, and security frameworks.

- Ability to translate business needs into IA structure, content rules, and platform-level design.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Microsoft Certified : SharePoint / M365 Architect level credentials preferred.

- Experience with SharePoint migrations, re-architecture, and large-scale content modernization.

- Familiarity with SPFx development, PnP provisioning, Power Platform automation
