Job Summary :

We are seeking a highly experienced Lead Backend Developer to design, develop, and lead the backend architecture of scalable, secure, and high-performance applications.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on development experience in Python (Django/Flask/FastAPI) or Node.js along with proven leadership capabilities to guide teams and deliver robust enterprise solutions.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead the design, development, and deployment of backend systems and APIs

- Architect scalable, secure, and high-performance REST APIs and microservices

- Take ownership of backend architecture, system design, and technical decisions

- Collaborate closely with Product, Frontend, DevOps, and QA teams for end-to-end delivery

- Mentor junior developers and conduct code reviews to maintain coding standards

- Optimize backend performance, database queries, and API response times

- Implement authentication and authorization mechanisms (JWT, OAuth, RBAC)

- Ensure high code quality through unit testing, integration testing, debugging, and monitoring

- Manage CI/CD pipelines and support production deployments

- Participate in sprint planning, estimation, and delivery in Agile environments

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- 10+ years of experience in backend development

- Strong expertise in at least one backend stack :

- Python : Django / Flask / FastAPI

OR

- Node.js : Express / NestJS

- Hands-on experience in building RESTful APIs, scalable backend systems, and microservices

- Strong knowledge of SQL databases (PostgreSQL / MySQL) and ORM frameworks

- Experience with caching, messaging, or background jobs (Redis / Celery / RabbitMQ / Kafka - preferred)

- Experience with Docker and backend deployment practices

- Understanding of cloud platforms (AWS / Azure / GCP - good to have)

- Strong grasp of system design, backend architecture, and performance optimization

- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder coordination skills

Good to Have :

- Exposure to event-driven or distributed architectures

- Experience working with frontend teams (React / Angular integrations)

- Familiarity with API security, monitoring, and logging tools

- Experience in Agile / Scrum development environments

- Knowledge of CI/CD tools and DevOps collaboration
