RateGain - Software Development Engineer II - Backend Technologies

Exploring the role :

As a Software Development Engineer II (Backend), you will be part of our core engineering team responsible for building high-performance, cloud-native, and scalable systems that power the travel ecosystem.

This role offers the opportunity to work on AI-powered SaaS platforms that process billions of signals every day, enabling hotels, airlines, and OTAs to drive smarter revenue outcomes.

You will work with modern technologies including .NET Core, AWS, microservices, event-driven architectures, and serverless computing while collaborating closely with architects, product managers, and data scientists.

This is a hands-on coding role where you will contribute to design discussions, ensure best engineering practices, and mentor junior developers.

How your day will look like/Job responsibility :

- Strong knowledge of OOP, design patterns, and SOLID principles.

- Hands-on expertise with AWS (Lambda, API Gateway, RDS, DynamoDB, S3, IAM).

- Proficiency with SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server) and NoSQL (Cassandra, Redis).

- Familiarity with async programming, multithreading, and event-driven architectures (SNS, SQS, Kafka).

- Experience building microservices and distributed systems.

- Good understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

- Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS/EKS) is a plus.

Education & Work Experience :

- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (Masters degree is a plus).

- Proven track record of delivering production-grade microservices and APIs in .NET Core / C#.

- Experience working in Agile teams with strong collaboration across product, QA, and DevOps.

Knowledge :

- Exposure to observability tools (Datadog, Prometheus, New Relic).

- Awareness of AI/ML frameworks and cloud-native patterns.

- Familiarity with scalable SaaS platforms and multi-tenant architecture.

Skills :

- Solid grasp of OOP, design patterns, and SOLID principles.

- Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services (Lambda, API Gateway, RDS, DynamoDB, S3, IAM).

- Proficiency in SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server) and NoSQL (Cassandra, Redis).

- Practical experience with asynchronous programming, multithreading, and event-driven systems (SNS, SQS, Kafka).

- Experience in microservices and distributed system design.

- Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
