About the Company :

Our client is a fast-growing algorithmic trading firm operating in the MFT and HFT space, trading across multiple asset classes. As part of their expansion, they are building a strong engineering and quantitative team in Chennai and are looking to hire a Quant Lead to drive platform development and support trading strategy optimization.

The Quant Lead will be responsible for leading the development of a high-performance algorithmic trading platform and managing a team of 15 to 20 engineers. This role combines hands-on technical leadership, system architecture, and team management, working closely with trading and quant teams to enable strategy performance and scalability.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead the end-to-end development of the algorithmic trading platform, ensuring scalability, security, and high availability.

- Architect and optimize low-latency backend systems for real-time trading and market data processing.

- Design and maintain high-performance Python-based backend services for real-time analytics and execution.

- Build and optimize infrastructure for large-scale, real-time data processing.

- Design and implement CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows to ensure rapid and reliable releases.

- Collaborate closely with traders and quants to optimize trading strategies and execution performance.

- Drive best practices in system design, code quality, testing, and performance optimization.

- Lead, mentor, and scale a distributed engineering team of 1520 engineers.

- Plan tasks, define milestones, and manage delivery timelines using Zoho Projects.

- Ensure platform reliability, monitoring, and operational excellence in a production trading environment.

Required Qualifications & Experience :

- 7+ years of hands-on experience in backend development, with strong expertise in Python.

- Proven experience leading engineering teams and delivering complex, high-performance systems.

- Strong understanding of distributed systems, real-time data processing, and cloud infrastructure.

- Experience with trading infrastructure or derivative pricing model development or front office quant,

- Solid understanding of low-latency system design (experience in trading systems is a strong plus).

- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced trading environment.

- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
