Quality Assurance Automation Engineer - Selenium/Java

Description :

We are looking for a highly experienced QA Automation Engineer who can take end-to-end ownership of testing initiatives across UI and API layers. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Selenium with Java, along with hands-on experience in API testing and database validation.

This role requires someone who can design robust automation frameworks, handle production-level challenges, and ensure high-quality software delivery in a fast-paced Agile environment.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks using Selenium with Java

- Take ownership of UI automation, ensuring high test coverage and reliability

- Perform API testing using Postman, validating request/response, business logic, and integrations

- Execute end-to-end, regression, functional, and integration testing across applications

- Work with SQL databases to validate backend data and ensure data integrity

- Collaborate with developers, product managers, and business stakeholders for requirement analysis and test planning

- Identify, debug, and resolve production defects and performance issues

- Integrate automation suites with CI/CD pipelines for continuous testing

- Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives

- Mentor junior QA engineers and contribute to best practices in QA processes

Required Technical Skills :

Core Skills (Must-Have) :

- Selenium with Java (UI Automation) Ownership Level

- Strong experience in building frameworks, writing reusable scripts, and handling real-time automation challenges

- Postman (API Testing) Ownership Level

- Expertise in validating REST APIs, handling test scenarios, and ensuring backend integration quality

Database & Backend :

- SQL Hands-on

- Ability to write queries, validate data, and support backend testing efforts

Methodologies :

- Agile Exposure

- Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams with understanding of sprint cycles and collaboration practices

Skill Depth Expectations :

- Independently owns testing modules, writes automation scripts, solves production challenges, and mentors team members
