Job Title : QA Automation Engineer - Mobile/IoT

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for mobile and web applications.

- Perform mobile application testing on Android and/or iOS platforms.

- Develop and execute automation scripts using Appium.

- Develop and maintain web automation scripts using Selenium WebDriver.

- Use Python or Java for automation framework and test-script development.

- Create reusable and scalable automation components and test utilities.

- Execute functional, regression, integration, system, and end-to-end testing.

- Identify, document, track, and verify defects using appropriate defect-management tools.

- Analyze test failures and perform initial troubleshooting to identify the root cause.

- Validate application behavior across different mobile devices, OS versions, and configurations.

- Work with development teams to reproduce and resolve application defects.

- Participate in test planning, test-case preparation, execution, and reporting.

- Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines where applicable.

- Maintain automation scripts and update them based on application enhancements and changes.

- Perform API and backend validation as required for mobile and IoT applications.

- Validate communication between mobile applications, IoT devices, cloud services, and backend systems.

- Perform end-to-end testing of IoT-based applications and workflows.

- Validate device connectivity, device onboarding, configuration, monitoring, and control workflows.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and define appropriate test scenarios.

- Prepare test execution reports and communicate testing status, risks, and defects to stakeholders.

Required Skills :

- 4 - 7 years of experience in QA Automation / Software Testing.

- Strong hands-on experience in mobile application testing.

- Strong experience with Appium automation.

- Good hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver.

- Strong programming experience in Python or Java.

- Experience in developing and maintaining automation frameworks.

- Good understanding of functional and regression testing.

- Experience in testing Android and/or iOS applications.

- Good understanding of test-case design and defect life cycle.

- Experience working with IoT applications / IoT Core / connected-device ecosystems.

- Good understanding of end-to-end IoT application testing.

- Experience with debugging and troubleshooting automation failures.

- Good understanding of API testing and backend validation.

- Good knowledge of Git/version-control systems.

- Good communication and collaboration skills.

IoT Testing Experience :

The candidate should have exposure to testing IoT-based applications and workflows, including :

- IoT device onboarding and provisioning.

- Device registration and configuration.

- Device connectivity and communication validation.

- Mobile application to IoT device interaction.

- Device status and telemetry validation.

- Device control and command validation.

- Cloud-to-device and device-to-cloud communication.

- End-to-end validation of IoT workflows.

- Validation of device connectivity across different network conditions.

- Troubleshooting device/application communication issues.

Automation Skills :

Hands-on experience with one or more of the following :

- Appium

- Selenium WebDriver

- Python / Java

- PyTest / TestNG / JUnit

- Page Object Model

- Data-driven / keyword-driven frameworks

- API automation

- Git

- Jenkins or other CI/CD tools

- Mobile device emulators/simulators

- Android Debug Bridge (ADB)

Nice to Have :

- Experience with IoT Core or similar IoT platforms.

- Experience with REST API testing and automation.
