Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Python Test Automation Lead with strong expertise in Python automation frameworks, AWS cloud services, IoT ecosystems, and Quality Engineering practices.


The ideal candidate will lead the design and implementation of scalable test automation solutions for cloud-connected IoT platforms, ensuring high-quality software delivery across device, application, and cloud layers.

This role requires a blend of hands-on automation development, cloud testing expertise, leadership capabilities, and a passion for driving engineering excellence through automation and AI-assisted development tools.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of scalable Python-based test automation frameworks.

- Define automation strategy, standards, and best practices across projects.

- Establish quality engineering processes for cloud-native and IoT applications.

- Drive automation coverage improvements across functional, integration, system, and regression testing.

- Collaborate with Product, Development, DevOps, and IoT engineering teams to ensure end-to-end quality.

- Design and develop reusable automation frameworks using:

1. PyTest

2. UnitTest

3. Python libraries and custom automation utilities

- Build modular, maintainable, and scalable automation solutions.

- Develop test libraries, fixtures, plugins, and reporting frameworks.

- Implement parallel execution and distributed testing capabilities.

- Maintain automation code quality through peer reviews and coding standards.

- Design and execute automation strategies for IoT devices and connected ecosystems.

- Validate:

1. Device provisioning

2. Device onboarding

3. Firmware updates

4. Device telemetry

5. Device-to-cloud communication

6. Edge-to-cloud workflows

- Perform protocol-level testing for:

1. MQTT

2. HTTP/HTTPS

3. WebSockets

4. TCP/IP

5. BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy)

- Validate real-time device communication and data synchronization.

- Develop automated tests for RESTful APIs, GraphQL APIs, and microservices.

- Validate authentication, authorization, security, and data integrity.

- Build integration test suites for distributed systems.

- Test message-driven architectures and event-based workflows.

- Perform contract testing and service integration validation.

- Design and execute testing strategies for cloud-native applications deployed on AWS.

- Develop automation around AWS services including:

1. Amazon SQS

2. Amazon SNS

3. Amazon Kinesis

4. AWS Lambda

5. Amazon ECS

6. Amazon EKS

7. Amazon S3

8. AWS IoT Core

9. CloudWatch

10. API Gateway

- Validate event-driven architectures and serverless workflows.

- Test scalability, reliability, and resilience of cloud services.

- Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines.

- Implement automated quality gates within release workflows.

- Support continuous testing and continuous delivery initiatives.

- Work with tools such as:

1. Jenkins

2. GitHub Actions

3. GitLab CI/CD

4. Azure DevOps

- Enable automated deployments and test execution in cloud environments.

AI-Assisted Quality Engineering:

- Leverage AI-powered development tools such as:

1. GitHub Copilot

2. OpenAI Codex

3. AI-based code generation tools

- Improve automation productivity and code quality.

- Evaluate emerging AI testing solutions and frameworks.

- Promote AI-assisted engineering practices across teams.

- Develop automated performance validation strategies.

- Monitor application behavior under varying workloads.

- Test scalability of cloud services and IoT platforms.

- Validate reliability, fault tolerance, and recovery mechanisms.

- Mentor and guide QA Automation Engineers and SDETs.

- Conduct code reviews and technical design discussions.

- Drive adoption of automation and quality engineering best practices.

- Participate in architecture reviews and release readiness assessments.

- Provide technical leadership for automation roadmap initiatives.

Required Technical Skills:

Programming & Automation:

- Strong expertise in Python programming.

- Advanced experience with:

1. PyTest

- Experience developing custom automation frameworks.

- Strong object-oriented programming concepts.

- Exposure to AWS IoT Core and edge computing environments.

Familiarity with performance testing tools such as :

1. JMeter

2. Locust

3. k6

- Understanding of security testing and cloud security best practices.

- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

Education :

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
