Job Description :

We are looking for a highly skilled DB2 Developer with strong expertise in developing complex stored procedures, optimizing SQL performance, and analyzing query execution plans. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical competency in DB2 performance tuning, cost-based optimization, and data-intensive system design. Experience in mainframe environments and financial services domains will be a strong advantage.

This role requires someone who can not only write efficient SQL but also understand the performance implications of query design and proactively improve system throughput and stability.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain complex DB2 stored procedures, functions, and triggers

- Write and optimize high-performance SQL queries for large-scale transactional systems

- Analyze and interpret EXPLAIN plans, access paths, and query costs

- Identify performance bottlenecks and implement indexing, partitioning, and query optimization strategies

- Collaborate with application teams to ensure efficient database interactions

- Conduct performance tuning for batch and online workloads

- Support database releases, migrations, and production performance troubleshooting

- Implement best practices for transaction handling and concurrency management

- Ensure data integrity, reliability, and high availability

Required Skills & Competencies :

- Strong hands-on experience with IBM DB2

- Expertise in writing and tuning complex SQL queries

- Deep understanding of :

1. Query optimization

2. Cost-based optimizer

3. Indexing strategies

4. Locking and concurrency

5. Database transactions and isolation levels

- Strong experience analyzing EXPLAIN plans

- Experience in performance tuning for high-volume transactional systems

- Solid understanding of data modeling and normalization principles

- Experience in production support and root cause analysis
