Proxy Engineer - Zscaler

Role : Proxy Engineer- L1

Location : Chennai

Experience : 2-5 Years

Qualification : BE/B.Tech in Electrical/Electronics/CS/IT (Other Streams NOT considered) OR MCA.

Certification Requirement : At least one Security certification Expert/CISA/CISM/CISSP OR Tool Based Certification.

Shift type : Rotational / Onsite-Client Premises (24-7)

Roles and Responsibilities :

PROXY L1 : Any Proxy Tool experience will be considered

- Serve as the L1 escalation point for proxy and secure web gateway issues.

- Troubleshoot authentication failures, SSL inspection issues, policy misconfigurations, and traffic flow problems.

- Administer and maintain proxy platforms (Zscaler, Blue Coat, Forcepoint, Prisma, Squid, etc.).

- Manage URL filtering, SSL inspection, firewall and access policies.

- Work with cross-functional teams (network, SOC, endpoint) for issue resolution.

- Monitor proxy performance, analyze logs, and implement optimizations.

- Manage updates, patches, and scheduled maintenance activities.

- Document SOPs, KB articles, troubleshooting steps, and configuration changes.

Technical Skills :

- Hands-on experience with one or more proxy tools :

1. Zscaler (ZIA/ZPA)

2. Blue Coat / Symantec ProxySG

3. Forcepoint Web Security

4. Palo Alto Prisma Access

5. Squid Proxy

- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, routing, and firewall fundamentals.

- Experience with SSL inspection and certificate management.

- Understanding of authentication methods (Kerberos, NTLM, SAML, Azure AD).
