Job Summary :


We are seeking a highly motivated and technically proficient Product Owner to lead the development and lifecycle management of automotive-grade embedded systems, like Ignition Interlock Devices (IID) and Body Load Sensing modules. This role calls for a detail-oriented individual with strong domain knowledge in automotive electronics, embedded systems, and functional safety standards. You will work cross-functionally with engineering, quality, compliance, and customer-facing teams to define and deliver innovative and compliant solutions.

Key Responsibilities :

- Own the product roadmap, feature backlog, and prioritization for ignition interlock and load sensing systems.

- Collaborate with embedded software/hardware engineering & mechanical design teams to define system requirements, technical specifications, and interface requirements.

- Translate customer, regulatory (ISO 39085 :2020, EN 50436) , and internal stakeholder requirements into clear user stories, acceptance criteria, and technical documentation.

- Work closely with compliance teams to ensure all devices meet regulatory standards such as ISO, EN and SAE J standards.

- Lead Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog grooming, reviews, and retrospectives.

- Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for your products, providing insight into use cases, safety-critical considerations, and deployment environments.

- Collaborate with automotive OEMs to capture market needs and ensure product-market fit.

- Ensure traceability of requirements from concept through validation and release, supporting ASPICE and ISO 9001/IATF 16949 quality systems.

- Support field trials, product validation, and certification processes.

- Analyze product performance and customer feedback to drive continuous improvements.

Required Qualifications :


- Bachelors degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.

- Minimum 10 Years of experience in design and development of embedded automotive systems with minimum 35 years of experience as a Product Owner, Systems Engineer, or similar role

- Deep understanding of embedded hardware/software integration.

- Excellent programming skills in Embedded C , C++

- In depth understanding of design and development of automotive grade hardware

- In depth understanding of DVP standards typically used in validation of automotive ECUs like ISO-16750 , ISO 11452 , ISO 7637 , CISPR-25)

- Excellent understanding of automotive-grade microcontrollers, CAN bus, LIN, OBD-II, and sensor fusion technologies.

- Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum, SAFe) and tools like Jira, Confluence, etc.

- Experience with safety-critical systems, including exposure to ISO 26262 and functional safety practices.

- Excellent communication, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications :


- Experience with Ignition Interlock Devices, alcohol sensors, or driver monitoring systems.

- Experience with Body Load Sensing applications including seat occupancy detection, weight sensing, and occupant classification.

- Understanding of regulatory testing, calibration, and certification processes (e.g., DOT, FMVSS).

- Familiarity with automotive cybersecurity standards (e.g., ISO/SAE 21434).

- Masters degree or certification in Product Management or Agile Product Ownership.
