Equiniti is seeking an experienced Principal Engineer to provide technical leadership across large-scale platforms and modernization initiatives. This role requires deep hands-on expertise, strong architectural thinking, and the ability to drive engineering excellence and Copilot adoption across teams. You will play a key role in shaping technical strategy, mentoring engineers, and ensuring scalable, secure, and high-performing systems.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead large-scale system modernization initiatives, including legacy platform transformation and cloud-native architecture adoption.

- Drive and champion GitHub Copilot adoption, enabling teams to improve productivity and code quality through AI-assisted development.

- Provide cross-team technical governance, ensuring alignment with architectural standards, security policies, and engineering best practices.

- Design and review high-level system architecture, ensuring scalability, performance, reliability, and maintainability.

- Establish and enforce engineering standards, coding guidelines, and development best practices.

- Collaborate with product managers, architects, and engineering leaders to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions.

- Guide teams on CI/CD pipelines, cloud deployments, and secure software development practices.

- Act as a technical mentor and leader, supporting senior and mid-level engineers in skill development and problem-solving.

- Drive continuous improvement in development workflows, tooling, and DevOps practices.

Must-Have Skills :

- 12+ years of hands-on software engineering experience.

- Deep expertise in .NET (C#, ASP.NET Core) and React.

- Strong system design and architecture skills for distributed and scalable systems.

- Proven experience defining and implementing engineering standards and best practices.

- Solid knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, cloud platforms (Azure/AWS), and application security.

- Strong background in technical leadership, mentoring, and code reviews.

- Mastery of GitHub Copilot in VS Code, with demonstrated experience driving its adoption across teams.

Should-Have Skills :

- Experience leading Copilot or AI-assisted development adoption initiatives at scale.

- Hands-on experience with large enterprise modernization programs.

- Strong experience in cross-team collaboration and technical governance.

- Exposure to microservices, APIs, event-driven architectures, and cloud-native design.
