About the Role :

We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Engineer with deep expertise in Java-based enterprise systems and modern cloud-native architectures.

The ideal candidate will serve as a technical thought leader, mentor senior engineers, and drive the engineering strategy for building scalable, resilient, and mission-critical platforms.

This role requires a strong blend of hands-on technical capability, architectural vision, and leadership across cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities :

- Architect, design, and lead the development of enterprise-grade applications using modern Java technologies.

- Build and enhance microservices-based distributed systems using Java 8/11/17, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, and related frameworks.

- Champion and accelerate cloud adoption (Azure preferred), ensuring secure, scalable, and cost-efficient deployments using Docker, Kubernetes, and other cloud-native tools.

- Define, implement, and enforce engineering best practices, including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, code quality standards, and peer reviews.

- Mentor and guide senior developers, technical leads, and engineering teams within an agile delivery model.

- Collaborate closely with Product, QA, DevOps, Security, and UX teams to drive end-to-end delivery of high-impact features.

- Evaluate emerging technologies and tools, contributing to enterprise-wide architectural decisions and long-term technology strategy.

- Represent the India engineering team in global technical forums, architecture councils, and strategic initiatives.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- 15 to 20 years of total software engineering experience, with 5+ years in technical leadership or principal engineering roles.

- Strong expertise in Java 8/11/17, Spring Boot, Hibernate, RESTful services, and messaging systems such as JMS/Kafka.

- Solid understanding of software architecture, design patterns, distributed system principles, and scalability best practices.

- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions), containerization (Docker), and orchestration (Kubernetes).

- Proven ability to influence stakeholders, make high-quality technical decisions, and communicate complex concepts clearly.

Preferred Skills :

- Exposure to frontend technologies such as React or Angular.

- Experience in financial services, BFSI, or insurance domains.

- Certifications in Azure/AWS, architecture (TOGAF), or Agile methodologies.
