The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Power BI, DAX, SQL, Azure Data Services, and Data Modeling, along with a strong understanding of modern data architecture principles. You will be responsible for shaping the BI strategy, ensuring data reliability, scalability, and visual excellence to empower data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Key Responsibilities :

BI Architecture & Design :

- Design end-to-end Power BI architecture, including data modeling, dataflows, dataset management, and report governance.

- Architect semantic data models and implement best practices for DAX, performance optimization, and reusability.

- Develop data pipelines and integration patterns using Azure Data Factory (ADF), Synapse Analytics, and Databricks to enable seamless data transformation and loading.

- Define and maintain data governance, security models, and role-level access controls (RLS/OLS) in Power BI.

Dashboard Development & Visualization :

- Lead the design and development of interactive, visually compelling Power BI dashboards and reports for business stakeholders.

- Work closely with business users to translate analytical requirements into high-performing, self-service BI solutions.

- Implement advanced DAX calculations, time intelligence functions, and custom visuals to enhance insights.

- Ensure dashboards follow UI/UX best practices and adhere to corporate branding guidelines.

Data Strategy & Integration :

- Collaborate with data engineering and data science teams to define the enterprise data architecture roadmap.

- Integrate Power BI with various data sources SQL Server, Azure Synapse, Snowflake, Databricks, APIs, Excel, and SharePoint.

- Optimize data refresh schedules, gateway configurations, and workspace management to ensure high availability and reliability.

- Contribute to the modern data platform initiatives by leveraging Azure Data Lake, ADF, and Power Platform integration (Power Apps, Power Automate).

Governance & Performance Optimization :

- Define Power BI governance frameworks, including workspace organization, naming conventions, data lineage tracking, and content certification.

- Perform performance tuning for datasets, queries, and visuals to minimize load times and enhance user experience.

- Maintain documentation for data models, KPIs, measures, and architecture standards.

- Implement DevOps for Power BI including CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps for report deployment and version control.

Leadership & Collaboration :

- Lead and mentor a team of BI developers and analysts, providing technical guidance and career growth support.

- Collaborate with CIO, Data Engineering, and Business teams to align BI initiatives with organizational goals.

- Conduct stakeholder workshops to gather requirements, present prototypes, and drive adoption of analytics solutions.

- Ensure adherence to data privacy and compliance standards (GDPR, ISO, SOC).

Required Technical Skills :

Power BI Expertise : Advanced experience with Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, DAX, Power Query (M Language), and Row-Level Security (RLS).

Data Modeling : Strong knowledge of Star/Snowflake schema, dimensional modeling, and data warehousing concepts.

SQL & Databases : Excellent SQL skills; experience with Azure SQL Database, Synapse Analytics, and on-prem SQL Server.

Azure Ecosystem : Experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse, Databricks, and Logic Apps.

ETL/ELT Processes : Deep understanding of ETL design patterns, dataflows, and incremental refresh strategies.

DevOps & Deployment : Experience implementing CI/CD for Power BI using Azure DevOps or Git.

Visualization & Analytics : Expertise in KPI creation, storytelling through data, and building advanced analytical reports.

Preferred Skills :

- Familiarity with Python or R for data transformation and integration with Power BI.

- Exposure to Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate) for low-code solutions.

- Experience with cloud data warehouses like Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery.

- Understanding of machine learning models integration within Power BI reports.

Certification :

- Microsoft Certified : Power BI Data Analyst Associate (PL-300)

- Microsoft Certified : Azure Data Engineer Associate (DP-203)
