Job Description

Job Description :

We are seeking a visionary and hands-on Platform Engineering Lead to spearhead the design, architecture, and evolution of our next-generation Internal Developer Platform (IDP).

In this role, you will bridge the gap between development and operations, empowering our engineering teams with self-service capabilities, robust automation, and cloud-native infrastructure.

With 9 - 15 years of deep technical and leadership experience, you will champion a "Platform-as-a-Product" mindset.

You will lead a team of highly skilled engineers to eliminate cognitive load for developers, accelerate software delivery pipelines, and ensure our multi-cloud infrastructure is scalable, secure, and resilient.

Key Responsibilities :

- Architect and build a scalable, developer-centric Internal Developer Platform (IDP) that abstracts infrastructure complexity and enables true developer self-service.

- Treat the platform as a product : gather requirements from internal engineering teams, define the platform roadmap, and continuously improve the developer experience (DevEx).

- Design and maintain robust, multi-region cloud infrastructure across AWS and Azure using a strict Infrastructure as Code (IaC) approach.

- Develop reusable, secure, and version-controlled Terraform modules to standardize infrastructure provisioning globally.

- Eliminate manual interventions by automating environment provisioning (Dev, QA, Staging, Prod).

- Act as the subject matter expert for containerization and orchestration, managing large-scale Kubernetes clusters across EKS (AWS) and AKS (Azure).

- Standardize application packaging and deployment using Helm charts.

- Optimize cluster performance, resource utilization, networking (Service Meshes, Ingress controllers), and multi-tenancy isolation.

- Own the availability, latency, performance, efficiency, and capacity management of the platform.

- Implement advanced observability, logging, and tracing frameworks to proactively detect and mitigate platform failures.

- Establish and track key engineering metrics, including DORA metrics (Deployment Frequency, Lead Time for Changes, MTTR, Change Failure Rate).

- Design, implement, and maintain secure, high-speed GitHub Actions CI/CD workflows for automated building, testing, and deployment.

- Embed security directly into the platform and pipelines (shifting left) by integrating automated vulnerability scanning (container, dependency, and static code analysis).

- Enforce identity and access management (IAM), secrets management, and compliance controls across all cloud boundaries.

- Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of Platform/DevOps engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.

- Collaborate closely with Software Engineering Leads, Security teams, and Product stakeholders to align the platform strategy with business goals.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- Deep, production-grade expertise in Kubernetes (architecture, security, networking) and Docker.

- Advanced knowledge of Helm for package management.

- Mastery of Terraform (structuring enterprise-scale state files, workspaces, and custom modules).

- Strong, hands-on architectural experience with both Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure.

- Expert-level knowledge of GitHub Actions (or equivalent tools like GitLab CI, ArgoCD) for building declarative deployment pipelines.

- Operating Systems & Scripting : Strong proficiency in Linux/Unix administration and scripting (Bash, Python, or Go) for infrastructure automation.

- 9 - 15 years of progressive experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, SRE, or Platform Engineering, with at least 2 - 3 years in a technical leadership or team lead role.

- Proven track record of designing and delivering an Internal Developer Platform (IDP) or centralized tooling from scratch.

- Strong understanding of microservices architecture, cloud networking (VPCs, DNS, Load Balancing), and database technologies.

- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical leaders.

- Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist (CKS).

- Advanced AWS (Solutions Architect Professional) or Azure (DevOps Engineer Expert) certifications.

- Experience with GitOps methodologies (e.g., ArgoCD, Flux) and Service Meshes (e.g., Istio, Linkerd)
