About the Role :

We are looking for a skilled and motivated PHP Developer to join our backend development team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in building robust, secure, and scalable web applications using PHP, modern frameworks (like Laravel, Symfony, CodeIgniter), and relational/non-relational databases.

You will work closely with front-end developers, DevOps, QA teams, and product managers to design and implement efficient server-side logic, APIs, and integrations.

Key Responsibilities :

Backend Development :

- Develop, maintain, and enhance web applications using PHP and modern PHP frameworks (Laravel, Symfony, CodeIgniter, etc.).

- Design and implement server-side logic, ensuring high performance and responsiveness.

- Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and GraphQL endpoints for front-end integration.

- Ensure security and data protection throughout the application.

Database & Data Handling :

- Work with MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Redis for database design, optimization, and query efficiency.

- Optimize SQL queries, implement indexing, and ensure database scalability.

- Design and implement database migrations, seeders, and backup strategies.

Application Architecture & Best Practices :

- Design scalable and modular backend architecture following SOLID principles and clean code practices.

- Implement caching, queue management, and asynchronous processing using tools like Redis, RabbitMQ, or Laravel Queues.

- Participate in architectural discussions and suggest improvements for performance, security, and scalability.

Integration & APIs :

- Integrate third-party services and APIs, including payment gateways, messaging platforms, or cloud services.

- Ensure seamless communication between front-end and back-end components.

- Handle API versioning, documentation, and backward compatibility.

Testing & Quality Assurance :

- Write unit, integration, and functional tests using PHPUnit or Codeception.

- Participate in code reviews, ensuring coding standards, maintainability, and security best practices.

- Collaborate with QA teams to ensure bug-free and stable releases.

Deployment & Maintenance :

- Work with DevOps teams for CI/CD pipelines, Docker containers, and server deployments.

- Monitor application performance, logs, and error reports, and optimize where needed.

- Implement application updates, migrations, and maintenance tasks with minimal downtime.

Agile Collaboration :

- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements and deliverables.

- Communicate effectively with product managers and stakeholders on progress and challenges.

Required Skills :

- Strong experience with PHP and frameworks like Laravel, Symfony, CodeIgniter, or Yii.

- Solid understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) and MVC architecture.

- Experience in developing RESTful APIs and working with GraphQL (optional but preferred).

- Proficiency in relational databases : MySQL, PostgreSQL; NoSQL databases like MongoDB is a plus.

- Knowledge of front-end technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and templating engines (Blade, Twig).

- Familiarity with Git, version control, and collaborative development workflows.

- Understanding of application security, authentication, and authorization mechanisms.

Good to Have :

- Experience with caching systems (Redis, Memcached) and message queues (RabbitMQ, Kafka).

- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and serverless architecture.

- Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.

- Experience with unit testing, integration testing, and automated deployment workflows.

- Familiarity with microservices or API-driven architectures.
