PHP Developer - eCommerce Platforms

Key Responsibilities :

Application Development :

- Develop, enhance, and maintain high-quality web applications and e-commerce modules using Core PHP and relevant frameworks.

- Build scalable backend systems, RESTful APIs, plugins, and extensions for platforms such as Magento, Shopify, Prestashop, WooCommerce, OpenCart, Odoo, etc.

- Write clean, secure, optimized, and reusable code while following Webkul coding standards.

Product Engineering :

- Participate in the complete product development lifecycle-from requirement analysis, design, and development to testing and deployment.

- Contribute to building marketplace solutions, multi-vendor systems, and SaaS-based products.

- Work on feature enhancements, bug fixes, integration modules, and performance improvements.

Database & Server Management :

- Design and manage database schemas using MySQL or similar RDBMS.

- Optimize queries, indexing, and performance tuning for large datasets.

- Work with LAMP stack (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) and basic cloud/server deployment processes.

Integration & API Development :

- Build and integrate RESTful and SOAP APIs for third-party systems, CRMs, ERPs, payment gateways, and shipping providers.

- Debug and resolve integration-related issues across multiple platforms.

Testing & Quality Assurance :

- Write unit tests and perform functional testing to ensure high-quality code delivery.

- Troubleshoot performance issues, conduct root-cause analysis, and resolve production bugs.

- Collaborate with QA teams to ensure product stability and smooth release cycles.

Collaboration & Documentation :

- Work closely with UI/UX teams, front-end developers, product managers, and cross-functional tech teams.

- Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, product discussions, and architectural improvements.

- Prepare technical documentation, release notes, and user guides as required.

Required Skills & Experience :

- Strong knowledge of Core PHP and Object-Oriented Programming (OOPs).

- Good understanding of MVC frameworks like Laravel, CodeIgniter, Symfony, or Zend (experience in any is a plus).

- Hands-on experience with MySQL, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX.

- Understanding of APIs (REST / SOAP), integration logic, and third-party services.

- Familiarity with e-commerce platforms (Magento, Shopify, WooCommerce, OpenCart, Prestashop) is a big advantage.

- Experience with Git version control and Linux-based development environments.

- Ability to debug, optimize, and write secure code
