Role Overview :

We are looking for a highly motivated and technically skilled Perl / Python Developer to join our healthcare technology team. The ideal candidate will have solid experience in backend development with Perl and/or Python and a strong interest in building scalable, secure, and high-performance healthcare applications.

Candidates with strong Python experience and a willingness to transition to Perl development are welcome. Comprehensive training and mentorship will be provided.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise-scale applications using Perl and/or Python.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, business analysts, and QA to deliver high-quality software solutions.

- Work with relational databases (preferably SQL-based) to perform data modeling, data integration, and optimization.

- Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards, best practices, and security guidelines.

- Debug and resolve performance and scalability issues in a large-scale production environment.

Maintain clear documentation of code, processes, and design decisions.

- Stay up-to-date with emerging trends in healthcare IT, scripting languages, and backend technologies.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- 3 to 9 years of experience in software development with proficiency in Perl and/or Python.

- Strong understanding of software engineering principles, OOP, design patterns, and version control (e.g., Git).

- Solid experience in working with SQL databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MS SQL Server).

- Willingness to work in Perl-based development environments. Training will be provided.

- Familiarity with RESTful APIs, JSON, and web services integration.

- Experience in Agile/Scrum software development methodologies.

- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Prior experience in healthcare IT, HL7, FHIR, or working with EHR/EMR systems is a plus.

- Experience with Linux/Unix environments and shell scripting.

- Knowledge of data pipelines, ETL frameworks, or working with large datasets.
