Job Description
About the Role :
We are looking for experienced PCRF Deployment & Upgrade Engineers / System Analysts / Tech Leads to join our Telecom OSS/BSS engineering team.
The role requires strong expertise in PCRF (Policy and Charging Rules Function) solutions with hands-on experience in deployment, upgrades, configuration, and integration with core network elements.
You will play a key role in end-to-end solution delivery, system analysis, and leading technical discussions with stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead and execute deployment, configuration, and upgrades of PCRF platforms across multiple environments.
- Perform system analysis to identify gaps, recommend solutions, and ensure smooth integration with EPC/5G Core elements (e.g., PCEF, OCS, HSS, PGW).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Network Engineering, DevOps, and Operations for deployment planning and rollout.
- Ensure high availability, scalability, and performance tuning of PCRF systems.
- Conduct system health checks, capacity planning, patching, and security hardening.
- Provide L3 support for critical issues, root cause analysis, and troubleshooting of PCRF-related incidents.
- Drive automation and CI/CD adoption for faster deployment and upgrades.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership on PCRF solutions and best practices.
- Document design, deployment procedures, and upgrade strategies.
Required Skills & Qualifications :
- Strong hands-on experience in PCRF platforms (Nokia, Huawei, Ericsson, ZTE, or equivalent).
- Proven track record in deployment, upgrades, migration, and integration of PCRF in large-scale telecom environments.
- Knowledge of 4G EPC and 5G Core architecture, especially Policy and Charging framework.
- Proficiency in Linux/Unix administration, Shell/Python scripting, and SQL.
- Familiarity with Cloud-native PCRF solutions, virtualization (VMware, OpenStack, Kubernetes, Docker).
- Experience with network protocols such as Diameter, Gx, Rx, Sy, Sd, and related interfaces.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with focus on system stability and performance optimization.
- Excellent communication skills to work effectively with global teams and stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Experience with 5G Policy Control Function (PCF).
- Exposure to DevOps tools (Ansible, Jenkins, Git, Helm, Terraform).
- Telecom domain certifications (e.g., 3GPP, PCRF vendor certifications).
- Prior experience as Tech Lead / System Analyst in PCRF solution delivery
