About the Role :
We are seeking an experienced Oracle DBA to manage and optimize mission-critical database environments, preferably within banking/financial services.
The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Oracle database architecture, performance tuning, high availability, and automation, with hands-on experience in managing large-scale, high-throughput systems.
Key Responsibilities :
- Manage high availability and disaster recovery setups using RAC and Data Guard / Active Data Guard
- Perform backup and recovery operations using RMAN
- Conduct performance tuning and diagnostics using AWR, ASH, and SQL Plan Management (SPM)
- Manage large OLTP systems with high transaction volumes (high TPS)
- Handle multi-terabyte databases, ensuring performance, scalability, and reliability
- Implement database upgrades, patching, and migration strategies
- Configure and manage ASM and storage environments, including Exadata (if applicable)
- Work with GoldenGate for replication and data migration scenarios
- Implement partitioning and advanced compression strategies
- Develop and maintain automation scripts using Shell, Python, or Ansible
- Monitor and manage databases using Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM)
- Perform Linux system and network performance diagnostics (vmstat, iostat, sar, etc.)
- Collaborate with application teams for connection pooling and performance optimization
- Support audit and compliance requirements, especially in regulated environments
Required Skills & Experience :
- Minimum 5+ years of core Oracle database experience, with 3+ years in banking/financial services preferred
- Expert-level hands-on experience with :
1. Oracle RAC
2. Data Guard / Active Data Guard
3. RMAN
4. AWR / ASH performance diagnostics
5. Partitioning & Advanced Compression
6. Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM)
- Strong experience in high-volume OLTP systems
- Hands-on experience managing multi-terabyte databases
- Strong scripting/automation skills (Shell, Python, Ansible)
- Strong understanding of Linux performance and troubleshooting
