Role Overview :
As an Oracle Architect, you will be at the forefront of designing, implementing, and maintaining robust and scalable Oracle-based solutions. Your day-to-day will involve collaborating with application development teams, infrastructure engineers, and business stakeholders to ensure optimal performance, security, and availability of our critical systems. You will be responsible for architecting solutions that meet the evolving needs of the business, while adhering to industry best practices and security standards. Your expertise will directly impact the efficiency and reliability of our core business processes, enabling us to deliver exceptional value to our customers.
Key Responsibilities :
- Design and implement highly available and scalable Oracle database solutions to support critical business applications.
- Develop and maintain architectural standards and best practices for Oracle environments, ensuring consistency and compliance across the organization.
- Collaborate with application development teams to optimize database performance and ensure efficient data access.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues, providing expert guidance and support to operations teams.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of Oracle architecture, configurations, and procedures for knowledge sharing and disaster recovery.
- Lead the evaluation and selection of new Oracle technologies and tools to enhance our capabilities and improve efficiency.
- Automate database administration tasks using scripting languages to reduce manual effort and improve accuracy.
- Ensure the security and integrity of Oracle databases by implementing appropriate security measures and monitoring for vulnerabilities.
Required Skillset :
- Demonstrated ability to design and implement high-performance Oracle database solutions, ensuring scalability and availability.
- Proven expertise in Oracle database administration, including installation, configuration, performance tuning, backup, and recovery.
- Strong understanding of WebLogic application server architecture and its integration with Oracle databases.
- Proficiency in Linux and Unix operating systems, including shell scripting and system administration tasks.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Perl, or Shell for automating database administration tasks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, adapting to changing priorities and technologies.
- Experience with VMS is a plus.
