Role Overview:

We are looking for an experienced Observability & Integration Engineer to own the monitoring and enterprise integration layer, connecting observability platforms with PagerDuty and ServiceNow. The role involves event ingestion, normalization, enrichment, routing, correlation, noise reduction, integration troubleshooting, and end-to-end validation of monitoring-to-incident-management workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

- Own the monitoring and enterprise integration layer of the Statement of Work (SOW).

- Connect agreed monitoring and observability platforms to PagerDuty.

- Analyze existing event sources and event ingestion patterns.

- Implement event ingestion and integration across monitoring and incident-management platforms.

- Perform event normalization, enrichment, mapping, and transformation.

- Map monitoring events to appropriate PagerDuty services and priorities.

- Implement event routing requirements and support correlation, deduplication, and alert noise-reduction configurations.

- Implement and support ServiceNow - PagerDuty integrations.

- Support CMDB and service mapping requirements for event routing and contextual information.

- Perform end-to-end integration validation across the monitoring - PagerDuty - ServiceNow workflow.

- Troubleshoot connectivity, API, webhook, authentication, and event-flow issues.

- Conduct integration testing and validate production integration workflows.

- Analyze event volumes and alert patterns to identify integration issues and opportunities for noise reduction.

- Document integration architecture, event mappings, configurations, and operational procedures.

- Ensure effective monitoring-to-incident-management event flow and alignment with incident lifecycle requirements.

Primary Skills:

- Strong experience in monitoring and observability integrations.

- Hands-on experience with at least 2 - 3 enterprise monitoring/observability tools, such as Datadog, New Relic, Splunk, AWS CloudWatch or equivalent tools.

- Strong understanding of REST APIs, webhooks, and JSON.

- Experience with event ingestion, integration, normalization, enrichment, mapping, and transformation.

- Hands-on experience with ServiceNow integrations.

- Experience with PagerDuty integrations.

- Understanding of event correlation, deduplication, and alert noise reduction.

- Knowledge of CMDB and service mapping concepts.

- Strong understanding of monitoring-to-incident-management event flow.

- Experience troubleshooting enterprise integrations.

Secondary Skills:

- Understanding of incident lifecycle management.

- Experience with API authentication mechanisms, OAuth, and tokens.

- Experience in integration testing and end-to-end validation.

- Understanding of production monitoring architecture.

- Experience analyzing event volumes and alert patterns.

- Python scripting.

- Terraform.

- Microsoft Teams and Slack integrations.

- Kubernetes monitoring.

- Azure and AWS cloud monitoring.

Good to Have:

- Experience with Moogsoft.

- Knowledge of OpenTelemetry.

- Experience with Dynatrace, AppDynamics, or similar monitoring and observability tools.
