Job Summary :

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Backend Engineer with expertise in Python, distributed systems, and cloud-native application development. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and building scalable backend services, developing high-performance microservices, and owning critical production systems from architecture through deployment. This role requires strong system design skills, hands-on coding expertise, and the ability to solve complex engineering challenges in a fast-paced product environment.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Python.

- Build robust microservices using REST APIs and gRPC.

- Develop backend services using FastAPI, Flask, or Django.

- Design scalable, fault-tolerant distributed systems and contribute to system architecture.

- Implement asynchronous programming and concurrency patterns for high-throughput applications.

- Optimize PostgreSQL databases through schema design, indexing, and query optimization.

- Build, deploy, and manage applications on AWS using Docker and Kubernetes.

- Take end-to-end ownership of backend services from development to production support.

- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployments.

- Monitor application performance, troubleshoot production issues, and implement performance improvements.

- Collaborate with Product Managers, Frontend Engineers, DevOps, and QA teams to deliver high-quality software.

- Participate in code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and promote engineering best practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- 8-15 years of experience in backend software development.

- Strong proficiency in Python, including synchronous and asynchronous programming.

- Hands-on experience with FastAPI, Flask, or Django.

- Strong expertise in Microservices Architecture, REST APIs, and gRPC.

- Experience working with Protobuf.

- Solid understanding of distributed systems, scalability, concurrency, and fault tolerance.

- Strong experience with PostgreSQL, including database design and performance tuning.

- Hands-on experience with AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes.

- Strong knowledge of System Design and software architecture.

- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and deployment practices.

- Excellent debugging, production support, and performance optimization skills.

- Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration abilities.

Preferred Skills :

- Experience with Linux systems and production environments.

- Knowledge of data modeling and event-driven architectures.

- Exposure to JavaScript or React.js is a plus.

- Experience working in product-based organizations.

- Ability to mentor engineers and lead technical initiatives.
