Role Overview :

We are looking for an experienced PHP Developer with strong expertise in server-side application development, web technologies, database management, and API integration.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and optimizing scalable web applications while ensuring high performance, security, and code quality.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable web applications using PHP and related technologies.

- Develop clean, reusable, efficient, and well-structured code following established coding standards.

- Work with PHP frameworks such as Laravel, Symfony, or CodeIgniter to build robust application components.

- Design, develop, and integrate RESTful APIs and third-party services.

- Work with relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL, including database design, query optimization, and performance tuning.

- Identify and resolve application defects, performance bottlenecks, and production issues.

- Implement application security best practices, including input validation, authentication, authorization, and protection against common web vulnerabilities.

- Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate backend services with user interfaces.

- Participate in requirement analysis, technical discussions, code reviews, and solution design.

- Write unit tests and integration tests to ensure application reliability and maintainability.

- Use Git or other version control systems to manage code changes and support collaborative development.

- Optimize application performance, scalability, and resource utilization.

- Maintain technical documentation and contribute to continuous improvement of development processes.

- Work closely with product managers, QA engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver projects within agreed timelines.

Required Skills and Qualifications :

- 5 - 10 years of professional experience in PHP application development.

- Strong proficiency in PHP programming, object-oriented programming (OOP), and core software development concepts.

- Hands-on experience with at least one PHP framework, preferably Laravel or Symfony.

- Good understanding of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and backend-to-frontend integration.

- Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs and working with JSON-based data exchange.

- Strong knowledge of relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL.

- Experience with SQL queries, database schema design, indexing, and query optimization.

- Familiarity with Git and collaborative development workflows.

- Understanding of application security, authentication, authorization, and secure coding practices.

- Experience with debugging, troubleshooting, unit testing, and performance optimization.

- Knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies, and code review practices.

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Good to Have :

- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.

- Familiarity with Docker, containerization, and CI/CD pipelines.

- Exposure to Redis, caching mechanisms, and background job processing.

- Experience with message queues and asynchronous processing.

- Familiarity with automated testing frameworks and application monitoring tools.

- Experience working with microservices architecture or large-scale web applications.

Education :

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
