About the Role :

We are seeking a highly skilled Network Operations Technician to join a leading telecommunications company. This role is responsible for ensuring the stability, reliability, and optimal performance of network services through advanced technical expertise, proactive coordination, and effective troubleshooting. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with DWDM networks and a strong background in working with network equipment such as Ciena 6500, Infinera, and Alcatel PSS systems.

The Network Operations Technician will collaborate with the Network Control Center (NCC), Technical Assistance Center (TAC), field technicians, and external vendors to maintain network health, manage escalations, and implement proactive solutions to prevent service disruptions.

Key Responsibilities :

- Monitor network operations and ensure the reliability and stability of critical circuits.

- Perform complex troubleshooting and diagnostics on DWDM networks and related systems.

- Manage and respond to network escalations, coordinating repair activities with field technicians and external vendors.

- Conduct remote and off-net testing to identify and resolve network issues.

- Create, review, and deploy maintenance requests for after-hours network augmentations.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including NCC, TAC, and field operations to maintain service quality.

- Gather, analyze, and report network data to support operational improvements.

- Develop and execute scripts and automation tools to streamline repetitive tasks and improve operational efficiency.

- Provide timely updates to internal teams and customers regarding network status, outages, and resolutions.

- Identify opportunities for process improvement, including automation and optimization of network monitoring and maintenance activities.

Required Skills & Experience :

- 5+ years of experience troubleshooting DWDM networks.

- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Ciena 6500, Infinera, and Alcatel PSS-32/16 systems.

- 3+ years experience in a network operations role.

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with internal teams, field technicians, and vendors.
