Job Description

Position : Network Monitoring Engineer

Experience : 2+ years

Location : Hinjawadi, Pune

Shift Timings : This is a shift-based role.


Key Responsibilities :


Network Implementation and Maintenance :


- Configure and manage routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices.

- Monitor network performance to ensure stability, security, and scalability.

- Troubleshoot network-related issues in collaboration with cross-functional teams.


Network Design and Architecture :


- Design and implement LAN, WAN, and wireless network architectures, including routing protocols, segmentation, and redundancy

strategies.


Hardware Configuration and Management :


- Install, configure, and manage network hardware such as routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, wireless controllers, and access points.


Network Monitoring and Troubleshooting :


- Utilize NMS/EMS tools to monitor network performance, detect outages, and resolve connectivity issues.

- Customize monitoring dashboards, alerts, and notifications to meet operational use cases and SLA requirements.

- Enable SNMP monitoring for network devices, set up NetFlow and Syslog configurations, and maintain inventory of all network hardware.


Capacity Planning :


- Analyze traffic patterns to forecast future network requirements and plan upgrades.


Documentation and Reporting :

- Create and maintain detailed network documentation, including diagrams, configuration guides, and incident reports.


Vendor and Incident Management :


- Collaborate with vendors to resolve technical issues.

- Manage and report incidents using ITSM, ITOM, and ITAM tools, integrating them with monitoring platforms as needed.


Required Skills and Qualifications :


- Strong understanding of network monitoring protocols, including SNMP and NetFlow.

- Proficiency in networking protocols such as TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VLANs, VPNs, WLANs, and SD-WANs.

- Expertise in working with networking devices from OEMs like Cisco, Juniper, Aruba, HPE, Fortinet, and Palo Alto.

- Knowledge of network security tools, firewalls, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.

- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

- Familiarity with network automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Perl, Ansible) is a plus.

- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.


- Prior experience as a network engineer.


Mandatory Qualifications :


- BE/BTech/MCA degree.

- CCNA/CCNP Certification.

- Proficiency in IT network device administration.

- In-depth knowledge of the TCP/IP OSI model.

- Hands-on experience with SNMP, NetFlow, and IT monitoring tools.

- Expertise in Routing, Switching, and WLAN.
