NatWest - Principal Engineer/Senior Engineering Manager - Java/Microservices Architecture

Role Overview :

- Architect and implement cloud-native solutions leveraging AWS services.

- Build and optimize distributed systems using Kubernetes, Service Mesh, in-memory databases, caching solutions, and S3.

- Drive engineering best practices including Test-Driven Development (TDD), unit testing, mocking, and automation frameworks.

- Design and implement secure, scalable, and reusable APIs.

- Collaborate with product and business teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

- Ensure system reliability through observability, monitoring, and performance optimization practices.

- Work effectively with code repositories, bug tracking tools, and documentation platforms.

Required Skills :

- Strong hands on experience in Java, Microservices, REST APIs, and AWS services

- Expertise in Kubernetes, Service Mesh, In-memory DBs, Cache, and S3

- Strong understanding of Observability and Monitoring frameworks

- Experience with TDD, unit testing, mocking & stubbing frameworks

- Proven experience in API design and implementation

- Familiarity with version control systems, bug tracking tools, and collaboration platforms

- Strong problem-solving and stakeholder management skills
