As a Lead System Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of robust infrastructure systems that support MSC's global operations. You will work closely with cross-functional engineering teams, security architects, and global stakeholders to ensure that our server environments are secure, scalable, and highly performant. This role is critical in driving automation initiatives that reduce manual intervention and enhance system reliability, directly impacting the efficiency of our logistics platforms and the stability of our mission-critical services.

Key Responsibilities :

- Architect and deploy automated infrastructure solutions using Ansible to streamline server provisioning and configuration management across the enterprise.

- Develop and maintain complex YAML-based playbooks to ensure consistency and repeatability in system deployments.

- Manage large-scale patching cycles for Linux environments, ensuring compliance with security standards and minimizing downtime for business-critical applications.

- Utilize Red Hat Satellite to oversee lifecycle management, content management, and subscription management for the server fleet.

- Collaborate with global infrastructure teams to troubleshoot complex system issues, providing root cause analysis and implementing long-term preventative measures.

- Mentor junior system engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and adherence to best practices in infrastructure as code.

- Optimize system performance and resource utilization to support the growing demands of our global logistics network.

Required Skillset :

- Demonstrated expertise in Linux system administration with a deep understanding of kernel tuning, performance monitoring, and security hardening.

- Proven ability to design and execute automation workflows using Ansible, with a strong command of YAML for configuration management.

- Extensive experience in managing enterprise-grade patching processes and utilizing Red Hat Satellite for large-scale environment management.

- Strong analytical skills to diagnose and resolve complex infrastructure bottlenecks in high-traffic production environments.

- Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate technical strategies to both engineering peers and non-technical stakeholders.

- Ability to thrive in a collaborative, global environment, demonstrating adaptability and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, supported by 6 to 12 years of relevant experience in system engineering or infrastructure operations.
