Role :


This AVP Engineering position is ideal for leaders passionate about building and scaling high-performance engineering teams and platforms.

You will oversee both technical and people leadership, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative, secure, and impactful solutions.

The role emphasizes strategic vision, operational excellence, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities :


- Lead engineering strategy for platform modernization, scalability, and resilience.

- Oversee integration of third-party services and internal systems.

- Own end-to-end delivery of engineering projects with measurable business impact.

- Collaborate with Product, QA, DevOps, and Security teams to ensure timely and quality

releases.

- Monitor and improve KPIs such as velocity, defect rate, and system uptime.

- Mentor and grow engineering managers and senior developers.

- Drive performance reviews, career development, and succession planning.

- Champion agile practices, DevOps culture, and continuous improvement.

- Ensure adherence to security, compliance, and coding standards.

- Communicate goals and recognize achievements in leadership forums.

About You :

- Bachelor or masters degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field.

- 12+ years in software engineering, with 5+ years in leadership roles.

- Experience with vendor management and cross-site team coordination.

- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

- Analytical, detail-oriented, and an effective leader.


Requirements :


- 10+ years of full-time engineering experience, with at least 2+ years of people management in a startup or fast-paced environment.


- Strong proficiency in backend technologies : Java (Core, Spring Boot, Spring MVC), microservices.


- Experience in system design, distributed systems, and scalable architecture.


- Proven track record of leading teams through 0-1 product journeys and scaling systems.


- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes a plus).


- Familiarity with front-end development principles and how they integrate with backend systems.


- Solid grasp of version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, Agile practices.


- Prior exposure to high-scale product environments.


- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and stakeholder collaboration skills.
