Role Purpose :

The Migration Engineer will independently execute assigned server migrations within each wave, ensuring readiness, cutover execution, rollback support, and quality validation. The role will also review junior engineer output and validate AI-generated migration artefacts.

Key Responsibilities :

- Execute end-to-end rehost and replatform migrations for assigned server workloads.

- Perform migration readiness checks before each scheduled migration wave.

- Validate network bandwidth headroom and replication concurrency requirements.

- Confirm data-freeze requirements and server tagging before migration.

- Execute production cutovers under client direction and approved procedures.

- Support rollback activities when migration or cutover issues arise.

- Contribute technical evidence for migration go/no-go decision meetings.

- Review AI-generated migration artefacts for technical accuracy and completeness.

- Validate migration documentation instead of simply accepting automated outputs.

- Troubleshoot replication, connectivity, Windows, Linux, and migration-related issues.

- Work hands-on with AWS Application Migration Service (AWS MGN).

- Support large-scale block-level server replication and migration activities.

- Administer Windows Server environments throughout the migration lifecycle.

- Provide Linux administration support for migration-related activities.

- Support SQL Server workloads migrating at the server infrastructure level.

- Pair with junior engineers during their initial migration waves.

- Review and approve junior engineer deliverables before migration execution.

- Work closely with Wave Leads, Architects, application teams, and clients.

- Follow approved migration runbooks, controls, and operational procedures.

- Maintain migration quality while working across multiple concurrent workloads.

Required Skills & Experience :

- 4 - 7 years of experience in infrastructure, cloud, or migration delivery.

- Hands-on experience with AWS MGN or equivalent block-level replication tools.

- Strong hands-on Windows Server administration experience.

- Working knowledge of Linux operating systems and troubleshooting.

- Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server environments.

- Understanding of networking, DNS, routing, firewalls, and connectivity troubleshooting.

- Ability to independently manage assigned servers through migration lifecycle.

- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills during production migrations.

- Ability to learn new AWS migration technologies quickly.

Good to Have :

- AWS Cloud Migration Factory experience.

- Terraform exposure.

- AWS Database Migration Service (DMS) knowledge.

- Experience supporting large-scale data-centre-to-AWS migrations.

- Experience working within healthcare or regulated data environments.

- Understanding of data privacy and security requirements.

Candidate Flexibility :

- Strong Windows Engineers with good infrastructure fundamentals can be considered.

- Candidates with partial AWS migration exposure may also be considered.

- Resources who are technically strong and fast learners are encouraged.

- Suitable candidates can be trained intensively on AWS migration technologies within 7 - 10 days.

- Priority will be given to candidates demonstrating strong learning ability, troubleshooting skills, and infrastructure fundamentals.
