Role Overview :

As an MSSQL DBA at MARS, you will be responsible for the performance, integrity, and security of our SQL Server databases. You will collaborate with development teams, system administrators, and other stakeholders to ensure optimal database performance and availability. Your expertise will be crucial in designing, implementing, and maintaining database solutions that support our critical business applications and data-driven initiatives.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design and implement database solutions to meet business requirements, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.

- Administer and maintain SQL Server databases, including installation, configuration, patching, and upgrades, to ensure optimal performance and availability.

- Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues, proactively identifying and resolving bottlenecks to maintain system stability.

- Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies to protect data and ensure business continuity.

- Implement and maintain database security measures, including user access controls, encryption, and auditing, to safeguard sensitive information.

- Automate database administration tasks using scripting languages such as PowerShell, improving efficiency and reducing manual effort.

- Collaborate with development teams to optimize SQL queries and database designs, enhancing application performance.

- Provide technical guidance and support to other team members, sharing knowledge and best practices to improve overall database expertise.

- Participate in on-call rotation to provide 24x7 support for critical database systems, ensuring timely resolution of incidents.

Required Skillset :

- Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and manage large-scale SQL Server databases in a complex enterprise environment.

- Proven expertise in SQL Server performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting.

- Strong scripting skills using PowerShell for automating database administration tasks.

- Solid understanding of database security principles and best practices.

- Experience with database backup and recovery strategies, including high availability and disaster recovery solutions.

- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.

- Experience with PostgreSQL is a plus.
