About the Role :

We are seeking an experienced MarkLogic Developer to join our growing Cards & Payments engineering team.

This role requires deep technical expertise in MarkLogic and related frameworks to design, develop, and optimize enterprise-scale applications.

The ideal candidate should be proficient in XQuery, Optic Query, Semantic Technologies, and REST APIs, with experience working in DevOps-driven environments.

This is a hands-on, client-facing role where you will contribute to mission-critical financial systems, ensuring scalability, efficiency, and seamless integration with cloud platforms such as Azure.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead the design and development of MarkLogic-based solutions, ensuring scalability and high availability.

- Implement advanced querying using XQuery, Optic Query, and Semantic Technologies.

- Hands-on development using MarkLogic DataHub framework and Apache NiFi.

- Architect, build, and manage REST APIs and integrations with external systems.

- Collaborate with DevOps teams to design CI/CD pipelines, version control, and automated deployments.

- Work with cloud platforms (preferably Azure) for hosting and managing enterprise-scale MarkLogic solutions.

- Apply best practices in performance optimization, security, and data modeling.

- Participate in peer code reviews, provide mentorship, and ensure adherence to coding standards.

- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production issues related to MarkLogic applications.

- Stay updated with emerging MarkLogic and NoSQL trends to continuously enhance solutions.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- 8+ years total experience, with 5+ years in MarkLogic development.

- Strong expertise in MarkLogic, XQuery, Optic Query, and Semantic Technologies.

- Hands-on experience with DataHub framework and Apache NiFi.

- Strong experience in designing and developing REST APIs.

- Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure preferred) for application deployment.

- Working knowledge of Git, Gradle, IDEs, and CI/CD processes.

- Exposure to DevOps methodologies and experience in agile teams.

- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
