Mainframe/Production Support Engineer

Description :

- We are looking for a skilled Mainframe Developer with strong expertise in COBOL and FORTRAN to support, maintain, and enhance critical enterprise applications. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in mainframe technologies, debugging, and production support, along with a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities :

- Develop, maintain, and enhance mainframe applications using COBOL and FORTRAN

- Work extensively with JCL and DB2 for batch processing and data management

- Analyze, debug, and resolve production issues in a timely manner

- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement permanent fixes

- Participate in incident, problem, and change management processes (ITIL)

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth application performance

- Support production systems, including on-call and shift-based work

- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and maintain code using version control tools

- Continuously upskill and adapt to new tools and technologies as required

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- 3-9 years of experience in Mainframe Development

- Strong programming skills in COBOL and FORTRAN

- Hands-on experience with JCL and DB2

- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills

- Good understanding of ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change Management)

- Experience with CI/CD integration and version control (Git)

- Ability to analyze complex issues and provide long-term solutions

- Willingness to work in shifts and on-call support environments
