Responsibilities :

As a Mainframe Developer, you will be responsible for :

- Code Development and Maintenance : Designing, developing, testing, and maintaining high-quality code primarily in COBOL, PL/1, JCL, and DB2 environments.

- Problem Solving : Applying a strong analytical and systematic approach to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical issues within mainframe applications.

- Technical Tooling : Effectively utilizing appropriate development tools, methods, and applications to ensure efficient and effective delivery.

- Domain Expertise : Leveraging your knowledge of the Insurance domain to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

- Agile Collaboration : Participating actively in Agile development methodologies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives, to ensure iterative and collaborative project delivery.

- Continuous Learning : Demonstrating a proactive approach to continuously learn new technologies, tools, and best practices, and upgrading your skills to stay current with industry trends.

- Communication : Collaborating effectively with team members, stakeholders, and other departments through clear and concise communication.

Required Experience & Skills :

Experience : 7 to 12 years of hands-on experience in Mainframe development.

Technical Proficiency :

- Strong hands-on coding experience in COBOL.

- Proficiency in PL/1.

- Expertise in JCL (Job Control Language).

- Solid understanding and experience with DB2 databases.

- Domain Knowledge : Good understanding and knowledge of the Insurance domain.

- Methodologies : Knowledge and/or experience with Agile development methodologies.

- Problem-Solving : Demonstrated good analytical and systematic approach to problem-solving.

- Tools & Applications : Ability to understand and use appropriate methods, tools, and applications effectively.

- Communication : Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

- Learning Agility : Willingness to continuously learn and upgrade skills
