Job Title : Assistant Manager Front End Developer


Job Purpose :


The Assistant Manager Front End Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automation web pages and configuration tools for the organization. The role includes presenting data analytics to meet customer requirements and delivering customer-facing support for front-end website-related issues. While not directly responsible for maintaining the data repository or API development, the role may require occasional ad-hoc support; therefore, complementary technical skills are highly valued.


Job Context :


This role operates within the Web Development team and contributes to the construction, enhancement, and ongoing optimization of GridKey Data Centre web pages. The position plays a key role in ensuring reliability, ease of use, and overall user experience. Collaboration with multiple internal teams is crucial to deliver solutions aligned with customer needs and production standards.


Key Accountabilities :


Front-End Development & Maintenance :


- Design, implement, test, and maintain software for GridKey Data Centre web pages.


- Develop responsive, intuitive, and visually appealing user interfaces.


- Build reusable front-end components and code libraries to support scalability and maintainability.


Technical Execution & Documentation :


- Participate in design reviews to ensure quality and alignment with project standards.


- Apply strict version control practices and maintain precise software documentation.


- Contribute content to end-user documentation when required.


Testing & Quality Assurance :


- Prepare and maintain test specifications, test scenarios, and test cases.


- Execute testing as per test plans and accurately capture, document, and report results, observations, and defects.


Collaboration & Project Support :


- Work closely with cross-functional teams to support project planning, reporting, and timely delivery.


- Provide customer-facing support for front-end issues and data analytics displays.


- Assist, when required, in ad-hoc tasks relating to backend APIs or data repository functionalities.


Qualifications, Experience & Skills :


Minimum Qualifications :


- Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or an equivalent field.


Experience :


- Minimum 8+ years of relevant experience in front-end development or a similar industry role.


- Proven track record of managing complex front-end projects and delivering production-grade solutions.


Technical Skills :


Essential Skills :


- Strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS, and modern front-end presentation techniques.


- Experience in designing responsive, user-centric interfaces and the backend technologies supporting them.


- Proficiency in Node.js or similar scalable server-side frameworks.


- Familiarity with Java and at least one other backend language (Ruby, Python, or PHP).


- Experience in building reusable code libraries and modular architecture.


- Working knowledge of REST APIs and API integrations.


- Basic knowledge of Cassandra NoSQL databases.


- Experience deploying applications on AWS cloud environments.


- Understanding of authentication and authorization concepts across multiple systems.


- Ability to build high-performance, scalable web solutions.


- Strong graphic design skills using Adobe Creative Suite or similar tools.


Desirable Skills :


- Basic knowledge of Linux environments.


- Familiarity with version control tools such as Git.
