Job Description - Senior Lead ServiceNow Developer

We are seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Senior Lead ServiceNow Developer with 5+ years of dedicated hands-on platform expertise and strong leadership capabilities. This role is critical for driving technical excellence, architecting scalable enterprise solutions, and leading a large development team of 30+ ServiceNow professionals. The ideal candidate will own platform delivery end-to-end while ensuring adherence to best practices, performance, and long-term platform strategy.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Technical Leadership & Platform Development :

- Platform Authority : Serve as the primary technical expert, guiding platform standards, solution design, and development best practices.

- End-to-End Development : Architect, design, develop, test, and deploy complex ServiceNow solutions using Business Rules, Script Includes, Client Scripts, Flows, UI Policies, Workflows, Integration Hub, and other core capabilities.

Multi-Module Expertise :

Hands-on, in-depth development experience across major ServiceNow modules, including :

- CSM (Customer Service Management) - Cases, Agent Workspace, Playbooks, Omnichannel flows.

- ITAM (IT Asset Management) - HAM/SAM, license compliance, asset lifecycle automation.

- ITOM (IT Operations Management) - Discovery, Service Mapping, Event Management, CMDB health.

- GRC (Governance, Risk & Compliance) Policy & Compliance, Risk, Audit workflows, IRM.

- FSM (Field Service Management) Scheduling, routing, dispatch, work orders, mobile workflows.

- ITSM (IT Service Management) Incident, Problem, Change, Request, Service Catalog, CMDB.

Integrations & Advanced Development :

- Build secure and scalable integrations using REST/SOAP APIs, Integration Hub, MID Servers, and custom connectors.

- Maintain advanced scripting proficiency in JavaScript, GlideRecord, GlideAjax, Angular/React (for Service Portal/Next Experience), HTML, CSS.

- Develop custom enterprise applications using App Engine Studio and traditional platform tools.

SDLC & Agile Delivery :

- Own and enforce the full SDLCrequirements, design, development, testing, deployment, documentation, and post-production support.

- Drive efficient delivery using Agile/Scrum methodologies and maintain strict version control and deployment practices.

2. Team Leadership & Management :

- Lead, mentor, and manage a large team of 30+ ServiceNow developers and administrators.

- Conduct deep code reviews, enforce coding standards, and ensure platform performance, security, and maintainability.

- Oversee resource planning, project delivery timelines, and coordinate efforts across multiple concurrent initiatives.

- Foster a culture of continuous learning, technical excellence, and effective collaboration.

3. Strategy, Optimization & Troubleshooting :

- Collaborate with Enterprise Architects and stakeholders to define platform architecture, long-term roadmap, and automation strategy.

- Monitor platform performance, stability, compliance, and health to ensure alignment with ServiceNow best practices.

- Perform advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis to resolve complex incidents and prevent recurrence.

- Lead platform upgrades, patching, cloning, and maintenance activities to ensure sustained reliability and feature adoption.

Required Qualifications

- 5+ years of dedicated ServiceNow development and administration experience.

- Proven leadership experience managing and mentoring large technical teams.

Mandatory Certifications :

- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA)

- ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD)

Highly Preferred :

- CIS certifications in at least two modules (ITSM, CSM, ITOM, ITAM, GRC, Secops, FSM, or TSM)

- Strong experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

- Excellent communication skills to articulate complex technical concepts to stakeholders at all levels.

Preferred Skills :

- Experience with Now Experience UI Builder, React, Angular.

- Knowledge of ITIL V4 processes and real-world implementation.

- Exposure to Automated Testing Framework (ATF), DevOps, and CI/CD pipelines for ServiceNow.
