About the Role :
We are looking for an experienced Linux Administrator to manage, maintain, and optimize enterprise Linux infrastructure. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on expertise in Linux server administration, system monitoring, automation, troubleshooting, and security management in production environments.
Key Responsibilities :
- Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers in physical and virtualized environments.
- Monitor system performance, availability, and security using standard monitoring tools.
- Perform routine system maintenance, patching, upgrades, and backup activities.
- Troubleshoot hardware, OS, network, and application-related issues.
- Manage user accounts, access controls, file systems, and permissions.
- Configure and maintain web servers, application servers, and middleware components.
- Implement shell scripting and automation for operational efficiency.
- Work with cloud and virtualization technologies such as VMware, AWS, or Azure.
- Ensure compliance with security policies, vulnerability remediation, and audit requirements.
- Collaborate with DevOps, Network, and Application teams for deployments and support.
- Maintain system documentation, SOPs, and operational runbooks.
- Provide support during production incidents and planned maintenance activities.
Required Skills & Qualifications :
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in Linux Administration
- Strong expertise in Linux distributions such as RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, or SUSE.
- Experience with server provisioning, patching, and performance tuning.
- Good understanding of networking concepts: DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, SSH, NFS, etc.
- Hands-on experience with shell scripting (Bash/Python preferred).
- Experience with monitoring tools like Nagios, Zabbix, Grafana, or Prometheus.
- Knowledge of virtualization technologies such as VMware/KVM.
- Exposure to cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP is preferred.
- Familiarity with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
