Job Description :

We are looking for a Lead Software Engineer with 6-11 years of experience to provide technical leadership for a large-scale Credit Application platform. The role will focus on architecture, distributed systems, Java/Spring Boot, modern frontend development, scalability, reliability, and technical leadership across multiple services and engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities :

- Define and evolve the technical architecture and engineering strategy for the Credit Application platform.

- Lead the design and delivery of cross-functional initiatives spanning multiple services and engineering teams.

- Make architecture decisions around service boundaries, data architecture, synchronous/asynchronous processing, integrations, and technology choices.

- Design and develop scalable, multi-tenant SaaS applications using Java and Spring Boot.

- Design and operate scalable REST APIs, including API versioning, contract evolution, rate limiting, and idempotency.

- Lead architectural improvements across backend and frontend applications.

- Design solutions using relational and NoSQL databases, including MySQL and MongoDB, with a focus on data modeling, indexing, performance, and consistency.

- Drive scalability, reliability, observability, and operational excellence across the platform.

- Lead high-severity production incidents, root-cause analysis, and post-incident improvements.

- Drive adoption of AI-assisted development practices and establish appropriate development and validation standards.

- Conduct technical design and code reviews, ensuring quality, maintainability, security, and architectural alignment.

- Mentor senior engineers and provide technical guidance on complex engineering problems.

- Collaborate with Engineering Managers, Product/Technical PMs, and other technical leads on architecture and delivery roadmaps.

- Represent the engineering team in technical design and architecture discussions with internal and external stakeholders.

- Support technology evaluation, third-party integrations, and technical decisions related to platform evolution.

- Identify and prioritize technical debt and lead modernization and migration initiatives.

Required Skills & Experience :

- 6-11 years of software engineering experience, including at least 2 years in a technical leadership, lead engineer, or senior architect role.

- Strong experience designing and developing scalable, distributed, multi-service applications.

- Deep expertise in Java 17+ and Spring Boot, including Spring Data, Spring Security, JPA/Hibernate, and asynchronous processing.

- Strong experience with REST API design and development.

- Strong frontend experience with Angular 14+, TypeScript, RxJS, and NgRx.

- Strong understanding of MySQL and MongoDB, including data modeling, indexing, query optimization, and data consistency.

- Experience building and operating production-grade applications in a cloud environment, preferably AWS.

- Strong understanding of distributed systems, scalability, performance, reliability, and system design.

- Hands-on experience with Git and modern software development practices.

- Experience with AI coding assistants such as Claude Code, Windsurf, GitHub Copilot, or similar tools.

- Strong production troubleshooting and incident management experience.

- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

- Proven ability to mentor engineers and influence technical decisions across teams.

Good to Have:

- Experience with AWS ECS, S3, RDS, SQS, Lambda, IAM, and CloudWatch.

- Experience with event-driven and asynchronous architectures.

- Experience with Terraform/Terragrunt and Infrastructure-as-Code.

- Experience with Jenkins or other CI/CD platforms and zero-downtime deployment strategies.

- Experience integrating third-party enterprise APIs, particularly DocuSign or credit data providers.

- Experience with platform migrations, cloud migrations, or large-scale framework upgrades.

- Exposure to B2B SaaS, lending, credit, fintech, or financial services domains.

- Experience with spec-driven or agentic AI development workflows.
