The Design Intelligence team is building a new and evolving capability at Vista: dynamic design generation and personalization. We're creating the foundational services, libraries, and intelligent systems that power scalable, automated creation of tailored, on-brand designs. Our work sits at the intersection of engineering, design, and data - and involves solving complex, open-ended problems around system architecture, design logic, and user customization. The Role :

As a Lead Software Engineer, you will join a motivated, collaborative engineering team focused on building the platform that powers scalable, personalizable design solutions for Vista's customers. Our team owns a range of services deployed on AWS, along with the front-end tools, components and libraries that enable dynamic design creation and personalization. We're looking for engineers eager to work across the entire stack. If you're not yet experienced in every layer, that's okay - we offer plenty of opportunities to learn and grow in new areas.

What You Will Do :

- Be part of a motivated team that is passionate about delivering impactful work to delight our customers.

- Design, develop and maintain scalable, high-performance backend services and libraries using Node.js and TypeScript, with auxiliary frontend work in React as needed

- Own and evolve services and components that scale personalized design creation, collaborating with adjacent teams and cross-functional partners.

- Lead engineering projects within the team by guiding system design discussions, making architectural decisions, and contributing to shared frameworks, libraries, and core components.

- Mentor teammates, review code, and promote engineering best practices to improve quality, performance, and maintainability.

- Contribute to product direction by identifying technical opportunities and influencing the design of customer-facing tools.

- Continuously improve team processes around development, testing, and operational excellence.

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

- Extensive backend development experience using Node.js and related technologies. Proficiency in JavaScript is required; strong proficiency in TypeScript is highly preferred.

- Good understanding of database systems, including both relational (PostgreSQL, SQL Server) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Redis).

- Experience with DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and service monitoring/ing strategies.

- Experience modern software development and a desire to write (and review) code every day.

- Ability to excel on an extremely talented team in a fast-paced environment

- At least 7 years of modern web development experience (microservices, React, JavaScript all plusses).

- Proactively engages in product discussions with curiosity and a customer focused mindset, working closely with product leads to understand business needs, propose technical solutions, and provide epic-level estimates.

- Familiarity with or willingness to learn SVPG principles to better align solutions with product strategy and customer context.

- A strong desire for self-improvement and ownership of your learning journey, actively identifying the skills you want to build, seeking out training and coaching opportunities.

Nice to Have :

- Experience with graphic design tools and technologies.

- Familiarity with New Relic or similar observability tools for tracking application performance and reliability.

- Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
