Job Title : Lead Shopify POS Developer.

Job Overview :

Seeking an experienced Lead Developer specializing in Shopify Point of Sale (POS) UI Extensions.

The ideal candidate has deep knowledge of the Shopify ecosystem and retail store operations to lead design, delivery, and migration of POS UI features for large retail clients.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead development and delivery of Shopify POS UI Extensions using React and TypeScript.

- Migrate legacy POS UI extensions to the latest API and component standards.

- Integrate with Shopify Admin APIs (GraphQL/REST), Webhooks, App Bridge, and optionally Remix/Node.js.

- Implement CI/CD pipelines via Shopify Partners Dashboard.

- Configure Smart Grid for store/location/role-based extension deployment.

- Monitor Shopify POS release notes, assess impacts, and collaborate on issue resolution.

- Troubleshoot production issues, drive root cause analysis, and prevention.

- Build integrations with third-party systems such as payment gateways, tax engines, ERP, and loyalty platforms.

- Partner with product owners, integration specialists, and RFID teams for seamless retail operations.

- Provide technical support for store openings and international rollouts.

- Oversee testing, deployments, and feature flag usage across environments.

- Diagnose and integrate POS hardware including peripherals.

- Mentor junior developers and enforce coding best practices related to quality, security, and observability.

Required Qualifications :

- 10+ years IT experience, including 3+ years in POS/eCommerce for retailers over $500M revenue.

- 35 years hands-on Shopify POS UI Extensions and App Bridge development.

- Strong skills in React, TypeScript, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, CSS3.

- Knowledge of Liquid templating and Shopify Polaris components.

- Experience integrating payment, tax, loyalty, fraud, ERP, OMS systems.

- Proficient with Shopify Admin APIs (GraphQL, REST), webhooks, AWS EventBridge.

- Expertise in designing custom Shopify apps for unique retail scenarios.

- Skilled with Git workflows, code reviews, and collaboration.

- Excellent debugging, communication, leadership, and project management skills.
