About the Role :

We are looking for a highly skilled Lead Python + FastAPI Developer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for end-to-end backend application development, from gathering requirements to delivering technical solutions. This is a leadership role, where you will mentor and guide a small team while working closely with business stakeholders to drive the architecture and implementation of backend systems.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of backend applications using Python and FastAPI.

- Architect and implement RESTful APIs and microservices for scalable, high-performance applications.

- Handle end-to-end backend development, including requirement gathering, technical design, implementation, and deployment.

- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and provide technical solutions.

- Lead and mentor a team of 34 developers, ensuring code quality, adherence to best practices, and timely delivery.

- Design and manage databases, including relational (SQL) and NoSQL solutions.

- Implement containerized applications using Docker and deploy on cloud platforms (AWS, GCP).

- Apply asynchronous programming techniques for high-performance and scalable backend services.

- Ensure comprehensive testing using frameworks such as PyTest.

- Document APIs and backend services using appropriate API documentation tools.

- Conduct code reviews, troubleshoot issues, and optimize application performance.

- Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends to enhance backend development practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- 9+ years of professional experience in Python development with hands-on experience in FastAPI.

- Strong expertise in RESTful API design and development.

- Experience with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, DynamoDB, etc.).

- Experience with microservices architecture and asynchronous programming.

- Hands-on experience with containerization using Docker.

- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS or GCP).

- Strong understanding of testing frameworks like PyTest and API documentation tools.

- Proven ability to lead a small team of developers.

- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

- Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

Preferred Skills :

- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

- Familiarity with message queues (RabbitMQ, Kafka, etc.) for asynchronous processing.

- Knowledge of security best practices in API and backend development.
