About the Job :

We are looking for a Lead Node.js Developer who will take end-to-end ownership of backend architecture and lead the development of scalable, high-performance systems. This role combines strong hands-on Node.js development with technical leadership, architectural decision-making, and mentoring responsibilities while working remotely with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities :

- Own backend architecture and technical direction for Node.js based platforms.

- Lead design discussions, define system architecture, and make long-term technology decisions.

- Drive development of scalable, secure, and high-availability backend services.

- Build and oversee microservices, APIs, and backend integrations.

- Review code, enforce engineering standards, and ensure best practices across the team.

- Mentor and guide developers through technical challenges and career growth.

- Collaborate with product, frontend, DevOps, and leadership teams to align technology with business goals.

- Take responsibility for performance optimization, scalability, and reliability of systems.

- Oversee production readiness, deployments, monitoring, and incident resolution.

- Act as the escalation point for complex technical problems and critical backend issues.

Skills Required :

- Strong hands-on expertise in Node.js with experience leading backend systems at scale.

- Deep understanding of backend system design, microservices architecture, and distributed systems.

- Proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript with clean coding practices.

- Experience designing REST APIs and backend platforms for web and mobile applications.

- Strong knowledge of databases such as MongoDB, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.

- Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.

- Understanding of authentication, authorization, and backend security principles.

- Experience with CI CD pipelines and modern deployment workflows.

- Strong leadership, mentoring, and stakeholder communication skills.

Qualifications :

- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

- 8 to 12 years of backend development experience with significant focus on Node.js.

- Proven experience in a Lead Developer or Technical Lead role.

- Demonstrated ability to own architecture and lead engineering teams.

- Experience working with remote or distributed teams is preferred.
