About the Role :

We are seeking a Lead DevOps Engineer to own and scale our cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, reliability, security, and developer productivity initiatives. This role will be responsible for building systems capable of supporting 100x traffic growth while driving operational excellence across the organization.

You will work closely with founders, engineering leadership, and product teams to establish infrastructure strategy, reliability standards, and platform best practices.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead the architecture and evolution of cloud infrastructure and platform engineering initiatives

- Design and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) frameworks enabling self-service infrastructure provisioning

- Build highly available, fault-tolerant, and secure systems capable of supporting millions of users

- Drive Kubernetes, containerization, and orchestration strategy across environments

- Establish SRE practices including SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, incident management, and postmortems

- Implement observability platforms covering monitoring, logging, tracing, and alerting

- Develop resiliency automation, disaster recovery, backup, and self-healing infrastructure solutions

- Optimize cloud costs, application performance, caching strategies, and infrastructure efficiency

- Define and enforce security, compliance, governance, and vulnerability management practices

- Mentor DevOps and platform engineers while driving engineering excellence and operational maturity

- Partner with application engineering teams to improve deployment velocity, reliability, and developer experience

What We're Looking For :

- 6+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer and 2+ years of experience in lead

- Proven experience leading infrastructure and platform initiatives in high-growth startups or product companies

- Strong expertise in AWS cloud architecture and services

- Deep hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, and Infrastructure as Code

- Strong experience building and managing CI/CD platforms using GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar tools

- Strong scripting and automation skills in Python, Go, Bash, or Shell

- Experience designing observability platforms using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Datadog, OpenTelemetry, etc.

- Strong understanding of cloud security, IAM, vulnerability management, compliance, and governance frameworks

- Experience managing large-scale distributed systems with high availability requirements

- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, leadership, and mentoring skills

- Experience supporting AI/ML workloads and modern cloud-native architectures is a plus
