About the Role :

As our Lead Backend Engineer, youll architect, build, and scale the core services that power our global SaaS platform. Youll provide hands-on technical leadership to a growing team, champion engineering best practices, and partner closely with Product, Frontend, and QA to ship high-impact features.

What Youll Do :

Core Ownership :

- Design, implement, and maintain high-performance, secure, and highly-available backend systems using Python & Django.

- Define and evolve our micro-services / SOA architecture, data models (SQL & NoSQL), and event-driven patterns.

- Proactively debug production issues; lead root-cause analysis and preventive?fix initiatives.

- Continuously profile & optimize performance, cost, and scalability for our global user base.

Team & Culture :

- Mentor and coach 4-6 engineers : code reviews, pairing, guidance on architecture and career growth.

- Own sprint planning, story sizing, and task allocation; track progress in Jira.

- Drive hiring : create assessments, interview candidates, and help build a world-class backend team.

- Foster a culture of knowledge-sharing via brown-bags, demos, and technical write-ups.

Technical Excellence :

- Write clean, modular, and well-documented code; enforce coding standards and CI quality gates.- Craft robust REST, GraphQL, gRPC, and WebSocket APIs consumed by web, mobile, and third-party clients.

- Champion CI/CD on AWS (ECS/EKS, Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB, S3, CloudWatch) and IaC (Terraform/CDK).

- Evaluate & introduce emerging tech (AI-assisted coding, Gen AI services) that accelerate delivery.

What You Bring :

- Education : B.E./B.Tech/M.E./M.Tech in Computer Science or related field.

- Languages & Frameworks : Expertise in Python (?3.8) & Django; strong grasp of ORMs (Django ORM, SQLAlchemy).

- Databases : Deep SQL skills (PostgreSQL/MySQL) plus working knowledge of NoSQL (DynamoDB/MongoDB).

- Architecture : Micro-services, event-driven design, caching, message queues, security best practices (OAuth2, JWT, OWASP Top 10).

- Cloud : Hands-on with AWS core services; infrastructure-as-code and cost-optimization experience.

- DevOps : GitHub Actions / GitLab CI, automated testing (pytest), containerization (Docker), Kubernetes/EKS a plus.

- Collaboration : Excellent English communication; proven record of cross-functional partnership in Agile/Scrum or SAFe setups.

- Leadership : Demonstrated success guiding engineers, owning deliverables, and recruiting top talent.

- Bonus Points : Shell scripting, observability (Grafana, Prometheus), experience with AI coding tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor).
