Lead Backend Engineer - Java/Spring Boot

Description :

CNH is looking for a hands-on Lead Backend Engineer who can architect and build the core systems powering diagnostics, telemedicine, real-time adjudication, and insurer workflows. You will work closely with the CTO and cross-functional teams to design scalable backend services, drive technical excellence, and contribute to a fast-moving healthcare-tech platform.

Responsibilities :

- Design and develop scalable backend services, APIs, and microservices using Java + Spring Boot.

- Build high-throughput ingestion systems, workflow engines, and real-time adjudication components.

- Work with Python-based ML/AI services and integrate them into production pipelines.

- Own database design, caching, queues, and distributed systems (Redis, Kafka, SQS/Rabbit).

- Collaborate with product, frontend, and mobile teams to translate healthcare workflows into robust backend logic.

- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines, testing frameworks, and observability tooling.

- Ensure uptime, reliability, and SLAs for insurer and enterprise clients.

- Mentor junior developers and contribute to backend best practices and code quality.

Requirements :

- 6-9 years of hands-on backend engineering experience.

- Strong expertise in Java + Spring Boot microservices and system design for scale.

- Solid understanding of distributed systems : caching, queues, async workflows, event-driven architecture.

- Experience integrating Python/AI/ML services into backend systems.

- Hands-on with Kubernetes, cloud infra (AWS/GCP), CI/CD, and GitOps workflows.

- Strong grasp of SQL/NoSQL databases, schema design, and performance tuning.

- Ability to work in fast-paced startup environments, with a high ownership and problem-solving mindset.

- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Bonus Points :

- Experience building workflow engines, claims/adjudication systems, or healthcare data products.

- Exposure to React/React Native (understanding of Web/Mobile ecosystem).

- Prior experience in early-stage or 01 teams.

- Strong cloud cost optimization mindset.
