As part of our exciting growth journey, were expanding our Software Engineering team and are on the lookout for a talented Lead Backend Engineer to join us on a hybrid basis in our Hyderabad office.

Key Responsibilities :

- Write clean, efficient, and reusable backend code following best practices and coding standards.

- Lead and influence technical design, architecture, and backend development of digital projects.

- Work closely with Engineering Managers, Product Managers, and Frontend teams to define and deliver robust technical solutions.

- Set up development frameworks for automation, CI/CD, release management, and code quality.

- Provide technical mentorship and guidance to mid- and junior-level engineers.

- Be a champion of developer experience, always seeking to improve efficiency and maintainability.

- Promote a blameless culture of learning, code review, and technical excellence.

- Stay up to date with emerging backend technologies and best practices, particularly in sports and digital innovation.

Requirements :

- 5+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 2 years in a lead or senior backend role.

- Strong hands-on experience with Node.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript.

- Solid understanding of database systems, including :

1. Document-based : MongoDB

2. Relational : MySQL or PostgreSQL

- Familiarity with frontend frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue.js) and RESTful API design.

- Strong grasp of software architecture principles and design patterns for scalable systems.

- Understanding of DevOps culture, including CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and cloud deployments (AWS or similar).

- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams and stakeholders.

- A continuous learner with a growth mindset, eager to improve both technically and professionally.

Nice to Have :

- A Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science or equivalent field.

- Experience working in sports, media, or digital fan engagement platforms.

- Exposure to microservices architecture or serverless computing.
