Role Overview :

We are looking for an experienced Lead Artificial Intelligence Engineer to design, evaluate, and deploy advanced AI solutions, including NLP systems, LLM-based applications, and traditional machine learning models. The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in AI development, evaluation techniques, and system architecture, along with the ability to convert business requirements into scalable technical solutions.

This role involves leading a team of AI Engineers and Data Scientists while owning the complete lifecycle of AI projectsfrom ideation to deployment and monitoring.

Key Responsibilities :

AI Architecture & System Design :

- Translate business needs into comprehensive AI solutions, including model selection, architecture design, evaluation strategies, and deployment plans.

- Design scalable, end-to-end AI systems covering data pipelines, model training, inference, and monitoring.

Model Development :

- Develop, fine-tune, and optimize NLP, LLM, and classical ML models using Python and frameworks such as Scikit-Learn, PyTorch, and TensorFlow.

- Build production-ready APIs and microservices using frameworks like Flask, FastAPI, or Django.

Evaluation & Performance Optimization :

- Define and implement advanced evaluation metrics (e.g., ROUGE, BLEU, perplexity, ranking metrics) beyond basic accuracy.

- Build evaluation pipelines to assess real-world performance, detect bias, reduce hallucinations, and improve reliability.

- Conduct A/B testing and establish validation frameworks prior to deployment.

MLOps & Deployment :

- Develop and manage ML pipelines using CI/CD, Docker, Git, and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).

- Handle model versioning, monitoring, drift detection, and retraining processes.

Leadership & Ownership :

- Lead AI initiatives end-to-end, from concept to production.

- Mentor and guide AI Engineers and Data Scientists, ensuring best practices in development and research.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, business, and data engineering.

Documentation & Standards :

- Maintain detailed documentation including architecture designs, experiment tracking, and evaluation reports.

- Ensure adherence to coding standards, testing protocols, and documentation practices.

Required Qualifications :

- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, AI/ML, Data Science, or a related field.

- 5+ years of hands-on experience building and deploying AI/ML systems.

- Strong proficiency in Python and libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, and Scikit-Learn.

- Deep understanding of NLP, LLMs, embeddings, and evaluation techniques.

- Experience in implementing and evaluating AI models using structured frameworks.

- Hands-on experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, fine-tuning, or RAG-based systems.

- Solid understanding of software engineering principles and MLOps tools (Docker, Git, CI/CD).

- Experience deploying solutions on cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure.

- Familiarity with SQL/NoSQL databases and system architecture concepts.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Experience with big data technologies such as Spark, Kafka, or Kinesis.

- Exposure to cloud ML platforms like AWS SageMaker or GCP Vertex AI.

- Experience with experiment tracking and monitoring tools (MLflow, Weights & Biases).

- Knowledge of data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
