Labcorp - Lead Application Developer - Microservices Architecture

Job Summary :

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Application Developer with 5 to 7 years of experience in designing, developing, and delivering scalable enterprise applications. The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate, AWS Cloud, Microservices Architecture, and SQL databases, along with a passion for building high-quality, cloud-native applications.

This role requires hands-on development expertise, technical leadership capabilities, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional Agile teams to deliver robust and scalable software solutions.

Key Responsibilities :

Application Development :

- Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise-grade applications using Java, Spring Boot, and Hibernate.

- Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services supporting web and mobile applications.

- Build scalable, secure, and high-performing microservices-based solutions on AWS.

- Develop and support Single Page Applications (SPA) and integrate them with backend services.

- Write clean, maintainable, and reusable code following industry best practices.

Cloud & Microservices Engineering :

- Design and implement cloud-native applications leveraging AWS services.

- Develop distributed microservices architectures that support scalability, reliability, and resilience.

- Integrate applications with cloud services, databases, messaging systems, and third-party platforms.

- Ensure optimal application performance, availability, and security across cloud environments.

Quality Engineering & DevOps :

- Follow Test-Driven Development (TDD) practices and maintain high code quality standards.

- Participate in peer code reviews and provide constructive technical feedback.

- Contribute to CI/CD pipeline development and automation initiatives.

- Collaborate with DevOps teams to improve deployment, monitoring, and operational processes.

- Troubleshooting & Performance Optimization

- Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve application issues across the software development lifecycle.

- Perform root cause analysis and implement preventive measures for recurring issues.

- Optimize application performance, scalability, and resource utilization.

Leadership & Collaboration :

- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers and team members.

- Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, QA teams, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions.

- Participate actively in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog grooming, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.

- Contribute to architectural discussions and technical decision-making.

Required Skills & Experience :

- 5 to 7 years of hands-on software development experience.

Strong expertise in :

- Hands-on experience building Microservices-based applications.

- Strong experience with AWS cloud services and cloud-native application development.

- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

- Knowledge of software design patterns, distributed systems, and scalable application architecture.

- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and performance tuning skills.
